Today Monday manitoba held two special funeral stuff for queen Elizabeth II. First was the standard 21 gun salute followed by a 96 shot salute.
At the main Anglican Church here in Winnipeg a special invite only funeral service in her honor is being held.
I have a middle ear infection on left side, outer ear infection on right side but still managed to bicycle to legislative building to sign Queens book.
Watched the funeral via YouTube live this morning except actual lowering of coffin. Cried entire time good service, wasn’t crazy about the spooky music though.
On antibiotics and ear drop stuff, I’m better. Didn’t know I had one as my ears didn’t hurt. It’s something going around apparently. All I noticed was lack of stamina and my balance was off.
I know many don’t see Canada as being that important but Queen Elizabeth often described Canada as a second home soil. We honor her just as much as those in the uk itself.
I confess I don’t think I will ever be able to sing god save the ____.

She was an exceptionally beautiful and kind woman
Haven't watched any of the ceremonies as my focus has been on other things. I figured with a world watching she would be handled with the grace and care by those attending as she had gave to others all her life.
Tels, I wish you a full recovery from the ear infections. Not only affects one's hearing but also their balance. Seems as if you were handed a double whammy. Follow the Dr.s advice and get well soon.

As I am sure you did, I gave my oath of allegiance to Her Majesty in 1981. The oath read "..and to her heirs and successors..."
I have personally met His Majesty King Charles III a number of times. In the UK in 1989. In Bosnia in 1993. In Kosovo in 1999.
He is a good and honourable man whom I trust, and who now holds my oath.

Quite a day
I must confess that I watched the coverage in almost it’s entirety from before 8am until 5.30pm (I took the shortest of breaks to get some food etc as the hearse travelled to Windsor. I may not have been there in person but I was in spirit.
I went for a walk after, everywhere was still eerily quiet and even this morning it’s still not the noisy hum we usually have. Certainly a day to remember.
I made an oath to the Queen when I joined the Scouts, I guess that still counts right?
Yes it seems strange to now be singing God save the King but if it’s any consolation the King himself looked a bit embarrassed at standing silent as everyone else sang.

Queen’s funeral
We arrived to a somber UK, not many smiles and quieter than previous visits. The entire event was as only the British can manage, very impressed. Many tissues, toasted the Queen with a friend coincidentally also in London on business. People are smiling again but most seem a bit leery of their new monarch. Time will tell. Starting home tomorrow. God save the UK.
