Let's hope September is less 'eventful'!

Well whilst the household's dose of Covid 19 is now behind us, we are still feeling a bit under our best, its a waiting game now.

So what have i been up to? Monday in the UK was a Bank Holiday, it usually rains but just for a change this year it was quite warm and sunny. Not that i did anything beyond a quick walk to the shop, well i made some progress on the next Gaby chapter but i'm still struggling to concentrate for long.

Tuesday, yesterday i wanted to give the riding a go again, this time i set off for Clevedon, a loop to the coast can be essentially hill free from Cabotville. When i got to my lunch stop it was too busy for my liking, so i pressed on and after failing to spot a viable alternative along the seafront, started my return. I came up with a plan B after crossing the Avon and soon enough i was in Severn Beach where the bakery supplied a pasty and cuppa, enough to fuel the remaining kilometres. By the time i'd looped around to miss the north Bristol traffic i had 106km clocked, my hill avoidance keeping the metres uphill to just over 500.

It was a ride, unexciting and a long pull into a headwind made for some hard work, i wouldn't describe it as enjoyable but the effort did push my mileage for the year over the 10,000km mark. The rides lost to the heat and Covid this month do however mean i'm back to a target deficit of some 600+km, i need to ride @ 1500km per month until the end of the year, not impossible but it'll need a concerted effort. It won't be the end of the world to miss it, there's no prize after all, its more to do with my ego!

So on Sunday i promised to start posting the missing chapters of The Anime Days, the first book of Gaby (If you want to start at Chapter 1 go here) So i bring to you Gaby at School, i've kept the same formatting as the original posts and even included the original illustration. I hope you enjoy this return to Gaby's origins - can you believe its close to 20 years since i wrote these early episodes of the Gaby saga, who'd a thunk i'd still be writing it all this time later?

Its bright and breezy today, i need to fetch some shopping this afternoon, the cupboard is somewhat bare! I'll be back on Sunday with the next part of Fame and i'll continue posting the missing bits of Book 1 next week.

For now though,
Tschuss
