Hey everyone. This is an update and quick thank you (to be updated in the morning.).
As of right now we have met our immediate needs and that combine with a loan from a friend of BC will go a long way to some of us getting some needed sleep.
We aren’t 100% out of danger but we will likely be ok and have a better idea of what the immediate dilutive for BC looks like.

There have been an awful lot of begging letters going out of late, and the most recent ones, I have to say, are solely my fault.
Through a comedy of errors, that are 100% not comical and just errors, I held on to a rental car (backed by a company card) for much longer than I should have. When everything was said and done, while they were regularly taking money out of the account, at the end/closing of the rental, a new charge hit that was for all we had already paid plus more, and it sent us deeply negative.
We have been paying money out of personal accounts and using the money everyone has donated recently to pay our most pressing bills directly from PayPal, but we are on the brink of not being able to recover at this point.
We currently (at time of posting) have about $800 in PayPal and Erin’s personal account is overdrawn now as well. We will be able to cover for a few more days, but I wanted to let you all know what’s going on and that it was my fault everything is completely upside down. To add insult to injury, I’m not even able to make it to the box right now to check for physical checks as my vehicle is still out of order.
I don’t want to go into deep details, but I want to warn about one thing. We have options to get out of this, and walk away scot-free, but the agreement to do so would be the end of BigCloset and all associated businesses and properties as part of the deal.
Right now, I’m not sure BigCloset has ever been any closer to closing forever than it is right now. This community has seen us through a lot including when I was about to be homeless as nearly everyone I cared for died around me, the birth of our NinjaPotato and more. If you have anything to give, please do. If you have been waiting for the right moment to act like a white knight, now’s the time. We desperately need your help and this is affecting everyone’s health around here.
I will admit that for the first time in this whole ordeal I finally had a moment where I broke down and cried. I’ve been playing phone tag with the rental company trying to figure shit out and Erin is headed shortly to the bank to see what she can figure out there, but right now, we are still fucked.

Tapped out for now
September 14 I will try to send some money. A relative has sucked me dry until then.
Sorry
Gwen
Its not
in my power to forgive you Piper, i think only Erin has that authority.
I think it goes without saying, the loss of Big Closet and the community surrounding it would be catastrophic to the well being of many here, it has been a life saver many times over and a lifeline for many in the often solitary existence many of us find ourselves in. I know there is a hard core of financial supporters upon whose shoulders these regular appeals fall, others, myself included, are unable to contribute much but we do it regularly. I certainly wouldn't blame Erin if she decided enough is enough.
I will join the call for funds, not just a one off sop but a regular 'subscription', i'm pretty sure everyone could manage $5 a month, barely one visit to the coffee shop, surely free access to the huge library of work available on the site is worth that much? Want to know how? Just ask, i'm sure Erin & her elves can find you all an easy way to contribute.
Our community is besieged on all sides, the least we can do is ensure the survival of this valuable resource.

Same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie?
The procedure didn't seem to function in June (no confirmation) with the Swiss Franc note. Will ask around and try to get a grand to you with PP, but it'll take a couple of days. . .
Hugs,
Miriam
A hundred smackers
coming your way via PayPal. I hope others will give what they can. This site is too important to all of us to lose.

Trebuchet Deployed
If ever there was a time to deploy the trebuchet, this seems to be it. Kitties cleared off, locked, loaded, and launched.
$250 on the way via our good Pal the Pay-ing trebuchet o cash.
This site and the wonderful members have provided so much positive and motivating feedback on the crazy story I've been working on now for years. I only post them here and one other spot, but the dialog with readers that I treasure and which keeps me going really only happens here. If bcts were to disappear I dunno what I would do. Probably cry.
Let's not let that happen, folks. Because I know I'm not the only one whose heart would break. Please!
Money on the way

Give till it hurts.
I'm 71 and retired with no other income. Had a part time job until last October when I was forced to quit due to back pain. In January I had major back surgery, Vertabrae S1 to L2 fused with plates and rods. That's into addition to past open heart surgery for a sextuple bypass and both knees replaced. Big Closet is my lifeline. I've been a Patreon at $250 a month for over 2 years and until June had given an additional $250 a month during appeals for funds. Halfway through June my sewer gave out and I had to replace it, over $18,000. Needless to say I couldn't do it myself. Still, because of the need, I just popped another $250. I'm literally down to under $2000 in my accounts with waters, sewer, electric and property taxes, home, car and health insurance.
If I can contribute, just about anyone can! Support BC!

I hear you
Luckily I am still working.
However, I have had an expensive year already between needing a breast implant replacement (popped), paying for cleaning out my dead brother's apartment, his burial. torn retina, thrown out back and I suspect I will need to re-roof my garage. Oh, and my cat just sprained (I hope that is all it is) her front right paw/leg.
This is the year of the tiger. It has been living up to the, at least Cantonese, homonym of it being a bitter/trying year.
Edit: For all those who own cars, this is the fourth year of owning my current car since new, so it should not come as a surprise I just purchased a new set of tires and likely will need to replace the battery before winter.
The year is not over yet :(
Oh, foooo...
I hear ya, Kimmie. Been much of the same for me this year. Well, more than just this year. But I'm an optimist...most of the time.
Hugs,
Sammy
Hang in there!
Yikes! I'm so sorry to hear you're going through all of that! I've sent some money along, and I hope it helps a little. You've given so much and it's very much appreciated! I hope everything works out for the best!
How much is needed
It will give a clearer picture of how much to send.
If you cannot pick up checks then can we send it to Erin's in Cali?
Edit - Sigh - Money sent but still, supporters need to understand how much you need.
Edit 2 - Which car rental company are you using? Maybe I should avoid them. I have had good experiences with Enterprise Rent A Car.
I have also rented from Enterprise, Twice.
The local branch is pleasant to deal with. No surprises.

Piper, I did put $500 in the mail Tuesday. It should have arrived by today.

Sorry. I'm stalling out ...
... I set up to buy a Hatbox membership, or renew, or just $10 / month + donate. After clicking submit payment, I get sent to:
https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/system/ajax
Which is a blank page, doing nothing, for a long time.
The only thing I can think of that I'm 'doing wrong' is that I'm un-checking the recurring payments option.
I've done "all the usual suspects" on my end. Logout/in, different browsers, reboot. No indications of resource shortages at my end.
Always get to the .../system/ajax page, which is blank and does nothing..
Recurring Hatbox Issues.
I've seen this, there is a fix, or work around, remind me in the morning (send a private message to me or something) and I will remember to look into this. It's something we saw a lot in the beginning, and it's been a long time since I figured it out, but you are very much onto the what the issue is.

Got link from Patricia Marie Allen
this just worked for me:
https://janglewood.com/one-time-gift/
It was working fine for me this morning
I put in a couple of hatbox subscriptions this morning, and it worked fine for me, redirecting to Paypal after i selected the membership. I simply used the Hatbox links on the blue column on the right side of the page. If you are using a phone turn it sideways.
Paypaled $50.00
Definitely hurt, but it would have hurt more if BCTS goes under.
Took for ever to find the link
You should have just linked the paypal page. For those that need it, here's the link from Janglewood
https://janglewood.com/one-time-gift/
Hope we get enough soon enough. I dug deeper than I should in my meager funds. I'm going to be bummed big time if we don't clear this hurdle.
Hugs

A little helping hand.
I was able to send $100. I may be able to do another gift early next month.
Temp have some money so...
Sent sumtin via PP. I'll try to send more next month.
I am on assistance, and may loose it, hopefully just temporarily,
but I got few $$ at the moment.
Gettin old, not well, not working. Hopefully I can work things out in the long run, with no more then a temporary loss. As it stand right now, I am not even going to be eligible for medicare, but I think there is a workaround.
This site, & the people here, mean a lot to me. I would hate to see it disappear.
It is basically my homepage, I'll just leave it at that, or this would get to long.

A big worry
Dear Ladies, Being a pensioner, I have sent my 'widow's mite', and if everyone does that, I hope it will get you out of trouble. You ladies do so much and I hate to think what my world would be like without Bigcloset. With very Best Wishes to you all, and thank you for all your hard selfless work.

Help
I did what I could and made a $36 anual membership through Patreon. I hope it helps in some small way in keeping the lights on here at BC
Love Samantha Renée Heart.
Great to hear
I donated in a few places, here and on Paypal for myself and on behalf of a friend. Let us know if you need further help, but all my donations are in the form of subscriptions so they should all renew next year. Big Closet is too valuable to let wither away.
Took a day to rotate funds
into an account that PayPal has access to. I don't keep funds in that account as a security measure. Hopefully, the payment will go through alright but my PayPal account is linked to an old email address (CableOne eliminated their email service a while back), and I cannot login to change it as PayPal has added a phone number requirement which I cannot use. I can't do these one-time shots very often but I did set up a $20/month Patreon account shortly after I joined this site and saw how many wonderful stories are here.
I tried, but couldn't get anything to work
Erin,
I tried to get a Hatbox Membership of $25 USD for every quarter but was denied.
I even tried to acquire the Silver Membership on your Patron page and was still denied.
Don't know why.
This could be a factor, but my McAfee Security Suite is saying that Bigcloset Topself is not a 100% Secure Site.
Since I use either cash or card/digital transactions (personal and professional), I don't use paper checks.
It could be just on my end or your end or a combination of the two not communicating.
Just letting you know that I tried to get funds to you but ran into some difficulties.

Look "up", to Patricia Marie Allen's comment ...
She gave us this link that finally worked for me:
https://janglewood.com/one-time-gift/
I have reviewed my payments to Qnez/BCTS
And have concluded that a repeat hatbox subscription should about double my regular contribution to $20 per month, though there also seems to be a different lower value regular payment among my PayPal payments-made emails.
I hope this has worked and the repeat has NOT displaced the existing subscription. Really, the amount of time I spend with the site will still not really reflect the pleasure and interest, though I must admit that I'm now being more selective.
Best wishes
