in case anybody isn't tired of me talking about my dreams, here is last night's:

I dreamed I was an assistant to a young man, who looked like an athlete. I was following him, taking notes on a notepad, and after entering a hotel room with 2 beautiful women on the bed, he announced he was going to take a bath.

Because he also wanted me to keep taking notes, he had me follow him, and in the swimming-pool sized tub were 3 more women who I ignored as I kept taking notes.

Soon, he got out of the tub, dried himself off, and said he was going to sleep, and when I asked what he wanted me to do, he told the ladies in the tub to "help me relax"

I replied, "wait, what?" and then gave an awkward wave to the women, who giggled at me.

Make of that what you will.

Falling/flying

crash's picture

I had that falling dream again. Well not so much falling as the flying one. In the dream context I have to walk just right or I''ll float away. I'm viewing the world from the prospective of maybe an eight or nine year old and I'm on the sidewalk outside the house we lived in back then. I start running, maybe to keep up with my friends or to get away from that bully Thad that lived across the street and I trip. But rather than bashing my head into the sidewalk I start drifting away at about the same speed I was running.

Eventually I have to do some acrobatic moves to avoid some power lines as I drift slowly upward over what seems like minutes in dream time. Then suddenly it all changes. I plummet back at the ground from say 20 feet or so. Just before I hit the ground I wake up with a start, to find that the cat has just jumped up on my back.

This startle awake from a dream is very common for me. And not always associated with the cat.

I find it's not worth trying to work out if my dreams mean anything. I maintain this rationalization that dream time is a reconstruction. That the whole dream is a construction I make for myself in the few instants as I am waking up.

Help Me Relax?

Not sure whether you're saying that the athlete wanted the ladies in the pool to help him relax or help you relax.
