Is this among the known side effects?

Side effects

I suffered very bad chills and fatique, took me an entire day to start feeling better.

I started feeling symptoms like five hours getting it while at work.

I was slammed.

I got home from work, fed the cat and then hunkered down in bed to ride out the symptoms.

I got the Moderna which is kinda similar to Pfizer but I am puzzled as severe chills should not happen to over 55 folks based on Pfizer test results.

Moderna v. Pfizer

Anecdotally, I've heard that there have been more reports of side effects with the Moderna than with the Pfizer. I had my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on March 20. With both doses I had some tenderness at the injection site for a few days, but nothing more.

For what it's worth, I'm 72.

My second Pfizer shot

hit me hard on my second day after getting it. The first day I was fine after getting it and I went to work the next day. By the way I'm doing security now. Any way, by the time my shift was almost over, I was getting extremely sleepy. I could barely stay awake as I drove home. Which for me is a 45 minute drive from where I'm guarding.

When I walked into my house, all I wanted to do is crawl into my bed and sleep. When I woke up, I was feeling fine, and where I got the shot in my arm was just a little sore.

By the way I'm fifty-three years old.

Pfizer vs Moderna

Pfizer's test results showed no reports of severe chills following the second shot among over 55s so I don't know if my rather kicked in the head by a mule response to the shot is normal for a person pushing 60.

Also, it seems the whole 5 hours after getting the second shot response was more for women who were younger, I shared my experience at work with a young co-worker and he said one of his young female room mates reacted similarly quickly and with kinda similar symptoms.

These things are important because ones doctor can be better informed on how their patient might react to various treatments and apparently vaccines do have a bit of gender variance in terms of reaction.

This was hinted at when I first signed up to possibly get a shot and the sign up form did ask about whether one was female or merely identified as female (trans).

Trans medicine does have its twists most physicians don't understand the differences.

I had Moderna

With the first shot, I was off my feed 24 hours starting the evening of the day after, but nothing more. For the second shot I hardly noticed it until after work when I was just a little tired and took a nap in my recliner.

Control Group?

After my neighbor told me his 2nd Moderna shot "totally kicked his ass" I prepared myself for the worst, seriously hydrating beforehand + planning to vegetate for several days eating chicken soup + binge watching kittycat videos on Youtube....

Arm was a little sore like after the first shot but other than that I had ZERO side effect. It makes me wonder if I was in the control group that only received the placebo in some vast unannounced ethically dubious experiment; Or more likely if my dose came from an unrefrigerated batch of vaccine, 'cause I got it for free at Walmart + they tend to be fuck-ups. I guess we'll see...
