Yep, big news today is that the 26th Gaby volume is now available in a single volume in both print and digital formats, as promised, ready for Gaby's (and my, hint) birthday tomorrow, the 25th. Due to a technical issue (my wp programme won't save to PDFformat - grr) the expected simultaneous release on Lulu hasn't been possible, it will follow just as soon as I can figure out the technical issue. I know the official announcement was pre-empted by a poster on BC which I was a bit annoyed by, I didn't even know that Amazon had finished their games at that time, but not everyone reads the blogs, so here you go, links to the book on the US site (other sites can be reached from there)
So that's the big news and what kept me occupied on Monday, so yesterday it was a return to two wheels. After consulting the Met.Office I set off for a loop to the south, hoping to get a tailwind return, but more on that later. It was always gonna be a lumpy start to the ride, well after following the bike path down to Bath, especially when you take the road to Radstock from Aqua Sulis. Up, up, up then a down before another up and down to the 'town'.
Not that the down was much relief, the strong southerly wind meant I needed to pedal down as well as up the Cotswold/Mendip lumps, another long drag took me to the Fosse Way for another dragging ride as far as Shepton Mallet. Then the wind was to my left more as I headed towards Wells, stopping a little short for my sandwich. After the fuel stop it was a more westerly ride to get to Axbridge where I picked up the Strawberry Line, the semi surfaced ex railway line taking me as far as Yatton, aided to some extent by the wind.
From Yatton, after an initial tailwind section most of the way back to the city was across the winds blasts so not quite as easy as it could be but I arrived back, legs in good order but shoulders and neck aching, 6 hours in the saddle, 1090m and 124km having taken their toll.
And so to today, there's a new Visitors chapter up, Oh Boy! It’s Mfanwy is well worth a read, even if you've read book 3 before, its not just Gaby being revealed to the 'mericans!
That's it for now, i'll post Lulu links as soon as I've got it sussed,
Wiedersehn
