I'm curious. I always check my stories to see if there are any new comments, etc.

Well, I've noticed with the final chapter of 'Tommy - The Trials and Tribulations of a Girl?', Chapter 253, that the Total Hits has gone astronomical. Most other chapters have topped out at around 1,200 to 1,300 hits with 0, 1, 2, or 3 Daily Hits, but Chapter 253 has constantly received multiple Daily Hits and is now up to 3,112 with today's Daily Hits at 25!

I'm wondering why Chapter 253 is receiving so many Daily Hits?

This happens

This hapens to most serials. The first and last episodes keep drawing hits and sometimes kudos. I think it's people revisiting just to check if there's anything new on one of their favorites, but I really don't know. If the last episode is especially good, it happens even more frequently.

That's interesting, Erin. It

That's interesting, Erin. It just seemed so weird to see the numbers on that chapter grow and grow. I know that Chapter 1 has over 13,000 hits and I figure that from people feeling out the story and seeing that might like it. Chapter 1 hasn't had the same type of hit rate as Chapter 253. And I can see your point. Thanks

I often hop to the end of a serial before reading the bulk of it

just to see if if it ends on an up or down segment. Often I won't read a serial that has an ending that I will have difficulty with. I also evaluate the reader numbers and comments of the later chapters to try to determine if an author has been able to maintain an enthusiatic readership as a means to prioritize my reading list.

You have some interesting

You have some interesting thoughts, Wendy. And I can see your point. I've read some serials that when I got to the final chapter I wasn't happy with. I'm going to start using your idea.

Trials and Tribulations ...

The tale set me on the trail of my own Heritage and was life changing to me. I still haven't resolved how much DNA makes one Native American. I'm sure that I'm half Navajo or Cherokee, but have no education from my parents about what that means. Do I have to be full blooded? I'm suspicious that few full blooded types still exist. I think that Tribal Centers are sick of white Americans approaching them in hopes of getting Tribal Money. Had it not been for Covid 19, I think I would have done substantial exploration by now. In the news, it is revealed that the Eastern half of Oklahoma is literally Indian Reservations.

I had a DNA test from a company in Utah, but think the results were self serving to the LDS. They said my DNA was from the UK and Scandinavia. It was not what the snippets that I got from my mother said at all. Should we survive and I do not age out, I hope to explore more later.

I used one of the DNA companies and they show some background from Africa. I've been able to trace my ancestry back to the 1500s in Europe. Africa is possible but doubtful.

I think some of us 'drop in', hoping ...

... for more chapters, or perhaps (hint, hint) any 'side stories' - things the Muse might gift you (and us) with.

And thanks again for a very nice ride with Tommy/Tammy/Kai and her whole gang.

It'll come.

Meanwhile, try practicing writing without your muse's input. Maybe you'll butcher enough writing that your muse will fly back screaming and screeching.

Tommy

Hey there Teddie. I just spent the better part of the week binge reading Kai and Ajie's saga. I really enjoyed it and just couldn't put it down as long as I had an moment or an hour or an evening to read it. I love long stories that I can get lost in. I liked how easy it was to empathize with many of the characters. I prefer to read the printer friendly versions and when I get into the story as I did with Tommy-TTATOAG? The, Kudos and Comments are not options in that format, and I just move along engrossed in the story line. For a story such as this with it being completed for a while, I prefer to comment on the story. Thank you for your talent and effort. I think your are a masterful story teller!
