Yep, a posting on the right day and before bedtime!

So after posting Sunday's update on Monday I didn't do more than walk to the shops and with some decidedly dodgy weather in the forecast, the Tuesday bike ride was pushed back, replaced by another supply run and the rest of the day preparing the latest Kindle release. Not that I'm walking far atm, not sure how but I seem to have an issue with an inflamed/injured tendon in my left foot which has been decidedly painful and restrictive. I seem to be on a non stop rollercoaster of injuries at present, just as I think I'm seeing the light from one thing, another pops up.

Today then, looked like the best day for a ride, sunny with a couple of showers so I set off prepared to cut short / abandon depending on weather and the broken body. Ten miles out the first 'shower' came through - I'd hate to see their monsoon if that was a shower, I was drenched in moments, the road flooded and visibility in single digit metres! I suppose it was over fairly quickly, I pushed on and up onto the Cotswolds.

I had a sort of plan, heading south easterly across the wind, through Corsham, a loop through Lacock and down to Semington where a bus shelter provided seat and shelter for lunch. I had dried out fairly well and after reading the latest Broken Wings, set off for the afternoon session. Well I got about a mile up the road before I was engulfed in a second heavy squall which flipped a switch in my head, the planned longer route back suddenly became shorter and more direct.

And so I made my way up to Bath and the bike track back to Bristol for a measely 104km and just 570m of ascent - oh and a third soaking just before I got back, tempered a little by a nice rainbow. The forecast is looking well dodgy the next few days so I might be forced into more down time than I'd like, maybe good for the foot but not for the head!

Todays Gaby chapter is Fronmühle, the 13th chapter of Avoidance, what's this, almost PG Gaby? I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation, honest!

And just a reminder in case you missed the late posting last night, there is new Gaby on Kindle! Yep, the first of several treats coming over the next few weeks is available from Amazon now, Gaby - The Character Guide is now available!

The original version was only available in print from Lulu but this new improved and enlarged version sees its first release on Kindle so that more of you can access it. Inside you will find stuff like a family tree, pictures of many of your favourite characters, background explanations of relationships/locations and even some of Gab's recipes to try! Its a must for all fans of the Gaby saga with insights into relationships and other snippets of info you probably missed in reading the tale itself! Not only that but there's a gazetteer of almost all of the characters appearing in the first 25 volumes.
