I'm rereading this wonderful story by Admiral Krunch which is one of my comfort reads. It has lots of laughs and also tears but it ticks all my boxes and I would thoroughly recommend it to those who haven't encountered it yet, but be warned it is addictive being well planned.

It has always been one of my favorites.......

D. Eden's picture

It was one of the first stories I read here, and it hooked me almost immediately. It truly was one of the Spurs which helped me to decide the path of my future, pushing me to realize just how much I needed to be true to my real self. It also led to me meeting some very good friends here on this site, and getting to know some of the people that helped keep me alive through a very black time in my life.

I re-read it periodically, and it gets me every time. If you want to read an outstanding story, well written with well developed characters, this is a good place to start.

Dum Vivimus, Vivamus

A monument

Iolanthe Portmanteaux's picture

That story is a monument, and it always comes to mind when I see readers complain about unfinished stories. There was at least one gap of several years when it wasn't clear whether it would even continue, let alone reach completion. Clearly, it was worth the wait, and what we had -- even before it was complete -- was well worth reading.

During that time, I sent the Admiral an email to tell him how much I enjoyed the story and expressing my hope that he'd post more of it soon.

He responded to my gushing praise with kind humility, and in turn praised Holly Hart, who edited the story. He credited her with making it "readable" and said other wonderful things about her. I wished I'd saved that reply.
