I looked for "Being Christina Chase" tonight and both the story and Captain Crunch as an author are gone. I am sorry to see that. I was getting ready to read it again.

Being Christina Chase is one of my favorite cereals ... erm, serials on BC.
Captain Krunch
I wonder just how many get the joke...?
On the origins Cap'n Crunch
Noticing the success that Kellogg's commercials featuring Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound were having when it came to getting kids excited about their cereals, in 1962 or 3 Quaker Oats approached JAY WARD STUDIOS to develop a character for a new cereal. And Cap'n Crunch was born, with veteran Jay Ward voice actor Dawes Butler playing the eponymous captain. The weirdness of the humor in the commercials they produced for Quaker was toned down a bit from Rocky + Bullwinkle, Dudley Dooright and such, the focus had to be on the product, not the gags, but the good captain is still easily identified as one of their creations to any fan of Jay Ward's stuff...
