Do what comes to you. If you feel like continuing an old story, do so. If a new plot has caught your attention, then do that instead.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Or finished enough to have resolved all major issues. But write what you choose. That is what it is for
