At long last - the forecasters have sort of got the weather right!

On Thursday I had an important editorial meeting across in Lincolnshire, the forecast was set fair and aided by a helpful breeze, I made great time for the 55 mile journey. So far so good. The meeting, well we had lunch too, took three hours by which time the wind had increased a bit, so rather than ride all the way back I elected to use plan A and catch the train. I got off the train to find it raining and blowing 'a gale', neither of which had even been hinted at in the forecast - I got home half an hour later absolutely sodden.

Fast forward to yesterday. Rain was forecast until mid morning then again late afternoon, time enough between to get a dry ride in. So @ 10 I set off, a bit of damp blowing in the wind which then increased and was intensified by a stiff westerly - at least i'd left home suitably equipped. Annoyingly, the rain stopped for the last few miles and at the time it was supposed to rain it was bright sunshine through into the evening - grrr!

And so to today, they reckoned cloudy with sunny periods which so far has been true but a few of those clouds look mighty full of stuff ready to wet the washing!

I'm still riding of course, so far this year 8000km and 90000m of climbing but with the main focus behind me its likely to be more relaxed through the summer months.

Enough rambling. Today's Gaby is Con’s Kiosk which interlude I hope you'll enjoy.

Looking forward, I've been working on the new Trixie while I've been sorting out the forthcoming Gaby plot lines - I think I've got it in loose format so I intend to bash on with Gaby this week, hopefully it will have the required curve ball element!

There will be a Wednesday posting of course so look out for that, for now though,

Weatherman

Patricia Marie Allen's picture

My father told me the being a weatherman would be a great job. You could be wrong half the time and everybody would think you're doing a great job.
