The Lee C. cheerleader series has grown through nine books.
"Grown" in that each book seems better than the last.
The latest in the series had me in tears of joy several times.

Daring Diane has seemingly boundless energy and creativity that places her Lee in positions that allow him to study his true nature.
The author displays a vast array of knowledge of cheerleading, football, baseball, fashion, modeling, charitable giving, boards, --- well just about everything. She goes into great detail and never misses a step.
If you haven't read any of these books, I envy your potential treat.
If you've read any of the series, you won't want to miss this book.

As good as I expected, but ...
... now it is back to the long wait for the next installment of this series.
The only silver lining on the horizon is that it should take at least five more books to see Lee and Darby through college, and one can still hope for more afterwards. :-)

Actually, it's a pretty short wait.
It may seem like forever (well, it does to me) but book 9, which has 80 chapters, was published 64 days after book 8.
May the Goddesses of Wishful Thinking grant that the next 10 books in this series come out at the same rapid rate. Ten, you say? Well, hey, this is wishful thinking on my part.

I loved the robotic competition, and was really disgusted by Todd and Ted.
Will Todd turn into a stalker?
I hope Lee gets on the robotic competition team.

Todd and Ted seemed quite stereotypical for young males in a competitive situation. I've coached dozens of sports teams made up of males. They will follow any alpha male if they think he will help them win. But first, that person must establish himself as the apha male.
In fact, when Lee goes off the rails he also allows his testosterone to get the best of him and he displays alpha male tendencies.
I'm not absolving any of them for their wrongs. I'm simply admiring the way Diane uses her characters to discuss these dynamics between genders.
This book is fascinating, as is the entire series.
