mention of bikes in todays Gaby chapter, Fashionista. Is Gab gonna go all out Goth on us? well maybe...…

Back here in the real world we finally got some wet - about 20 hours of constant precipitation which has to have been good, right? I know I wasn't thinking nice thoughts when I got soaked to the skin on my ride yesterday - not once but twice! Still, can't really complain, its been months since I last got wet on a ride.

And the rain didn't fall on G's parade either - by the look on his face I think he's enjoying adding this one to his palmares.

Well until Wednesday that's it from me

Think of it this way

A lot of wetness hitting the roads washes out the months of Oil, Petrol, Diesel and other crud that is deposited by cars, busses and the rest.
If we get just a bit of wetness then the roads become like ice-rinks to people on two wheels (pedal or motorised). That is not good.
Get a lot of wetness than the detritious gets washed away and things like Roundabout can be negociated in relative safety.

We've had lots or wetness here in Hampshire. My almost empty water butts are nearly full. First real rain since early May.
I hope that it drops a load more but clears up before Thursday when I'm off on the Motorcycle and going up Scotland (inverness, skye, mull and ardnamurchan) then back to the Pennines for the Steam Specials on the Settle-Carslile line the next weekend.
I fully expect to get wet at least twice on this trip (close to 2000 miles). Oh, the joys of using two wheels!
