Hurricane
It's unbelievable to conceive the aftermath of 24" to 36" inches of rain in 2 days, hopefully everyone has heeded the evacuation plans. Life is more valuable than property, property can be replaced, life can't.
We're Fine.
Probably not yet out of the woods. We are in a nice position for the storm to bring in new fresh water from the Gulf, and last I heard, the center is still creeping very slow, about a mile or two an hour.

I haven't paid much attention to the news lately, so i havnt heard about the storms down south. But we've been getting a ton of rain in the panhandle lately. A Hurricane down south means we'll be getting even more soon :/
Not that we're having poperty damage or anything like that... so it's selfish to complain
but damnit! i HATE mowing 5 acres of land every other damn day when it's wet like this.

You'll probably escape Harvey then. It's stalled, moving very slowly south-southeast at a couple of mph. On the other hand, in Houston, we are going to be very very wet. Harvey will probably out-perform 2001's Tropical Storm Allison -- the only tropical storm (non-hurricane) to have its name removed from reusage and refer in perpetuity to that storm.

three families in one house
I called two of my friends down in Houston to come stay with me in my three bedroom house. Total of ten people in this three bed/three bath house in Abilene TX. It is a bit cramped but my two dearest friends from college are safe and sound with families here. Oh and four dogs, cant forget the fur babies as well.

I am fine and so is my home but I am not making it physically into work without swimming a few times to do it.
So I am stuck at home, just hope my Paycheck still comes on Friday.

Live in the Houston area
Fortunately, my home is not flooded and not likely to flood. Streets in the area are underwater though and we're pretty much stuck at home. Still have electricity and food (and a generator just in case).
