Had a nice service at church today. Not only did we talk about Jesus as a young boy at the temple, but after the service, we had a lecture/discussion on the subject of "repairative therapy" - sometimes called 'conversion therapy" or "pray away the gay".

As it consists of little more than physical or psychological torture to try and "fix" people like me, and does much more harm than good, we are trying to start the process to get the Alberta government declare it illegal for people under 18 at the very least.

I wish you the best.

I'm a survivor of conversion therapy, barely.. It was a little over 30 years ago and I still deal with some of the emotional damage that was done to me as a 12 year old.. Its a horrific process that needs to go away forever.

I know I’m weird. The fact that I’m trans is probably one of the more normal things about me.

Conversion Therapy

In one way, I've been lucky, as I've never gone through conversion therapy. What I went through was bad enough that it still affects me 35 to 40 years later (I posted about it in one of my recent blogs), his intent was quite similar to those practicing conversion therapy.

Conversion therapy and other practices that deny one's being GLBT of any sort should be completely outlawed everywhere.
