I've had a lot of "searching" dreams - dreams where I'm looking for a place, a person, or an object, but last night i had a slightly different version of those dreams.

I was at some kind of combination carnival and sporting event with my brother and some friends, and when we got to our seats for the game, I realized I was hungry, and so went looking for a concession stand.

There I met a man who knew me, and he took me into secret parts of the site, and then I won a carnival game, and he seemed kind of sad about that for some reason.

The dream ended with me still following him, but wondering why he now seemed sad and also wondering if my brother and my friends were worried about me by now.

Strange, yes?

Most Dreams?

Aren't most dreams strange? I've often had dreams perhaps similar to the "searching" dream. Typically, I have to do something, or find something, and I'm always just about to, but I never reach the point. When I'm awake, I usually only remember isolated bits of the last part of the dream. I also (after awakening) realize that reality has shifted on me in the dream.

The reality-shifts in the dreams happen routinely. I remember once, where I was definitely prepared for an exam in my dream, and I actually caught (still in my dream) reality shifting on me so that I was now totally unprepared, having blown the class off for the semester.

Dream on

If I don't put my handbag by the bed I'm likely to spend half the night dreaming of searching for it.

Truly Nasty Dream

I find this very believable. I sometimes dream about things that worry me. That particular kind of dream is quite nasty, although I couldn't say how it compares with dreams of fighting or escaping crocodiles and giant king cobras, or being on top of a half-mile-high 10'x10' platform, in heavy wind, with a young child to get down safely. That kind of dream (half the night searching for something) is the kind that gives you a horrible night's sleep.
