I am really angry, and trying to keep a lid on it.
See, a couple of days ago, our provincial government brought down some recommendations for school boards dealing with LGBT kids, but not everybody was pleased.
The bishop of Calgary fired off on the recommendations, especially those that were supposed to help make trans kids safer in schools.
So when I read what he said, I started to get angry.
I wanted to fire back, to find out his email address and fill his inbox with every bit of rage i could.
But that's not the person I want to be.
More importantly, its not the person God wants me to be.
So I'm praying.
I'm praying for calm, I'm praying for control, and I'm praying that I remember to love my enemy as Christ loves me.
Hugs and prayers appreciated.

Anger
When someone makes you angry, it's important to remember Rule Three: It's not about you.
It's always about them and their problems, in this case the bishop is revealing what a hard time he has following Christ's teachings. If it were easy, everyone would do it.
Hugs,
Erin
= Give everyone the benefit of the doubt because certainty is a fragile thing that can be shattered by one overlooked fact.
WWJD?
I separate myself from Lesbians and Gays because there is little commonality. Most T folk are not sexually active, so there can not be any sort of moral issue. According to several Jewish scholars I have talked to, the idea that Deut 22:5 forbids males wearing female clothing is wrong because in the original language it only says basically that men and women should stay out of each other's tents. Religion in general has gone off the rails.
You can't solve anything with anger and there are lots of people who disagree with him
Anger
Anger leads to the Dark Side; the dark side of yourself. Fill yourself with love, and let that love guide you. If you do decide to send him an email, try expressing it as disappointment in him. Tell him you will pray for him to understand that God created us all including these Trans kids, and as such they deserve his love and compassion. One this will make you feel better and two, it is more likely to (albeit slim) to change his mind.
Even better send a letter to the provincial government, praising what they are doing. Your support can help insure that these kids get protection.
Accept that the Bishop may never come around, and try to love him anyway for he, too, is God's creation. You're too good and caring a person to allow anger and hate to fill you for long.

Raging anger has no value unless you're in a physical fight
I'm afraid I'm not into this God thing, so I have to take total responsibility for the way I am, the things I feel and the way I behave towards others.
Since raging anger has no value, get rid of it - let it drain out of your mind. For example, shout the following words several times over: Fu**! Cu***! Sh**! Ar*******! (I'll leave you to work out what the words are, and you can always substitute your own if you wish.) The important thing is that you continue shouting until the rage has left you.
Now you can start using your brain to try to win the argument, and you won't do that by sending hate mail. Respect your enemy and behave as you would wish s/he would behave towards you. Even if you don't win the argument, at least you'll be on the moral high ground.
Good luck
As Mr Spock said...
It would Help if we new what genesis is. How about a link to what has you flustered?
Sorry,
but this is why I have no time for religion and the giant confidence trick is really is. How are people who claim to be guided by something that can't be demonstrated or examined, allowed to influence the lives of people about real issues. His own sex life is probably all screwed up anyway which he projects on other people. Feel sorry for him and send him love, in other words love your neighbour, instructions from the founder of his faith he seems to have forgotten about.
