The doctors wanted me at the hospital early yesterday for a conference. Basically, they told me that it is unlikely that Jeanne is going to leave the hospital or even the ICU. She has numerous infections, she's unresponsive most of the time and she's bleeding internally somewhere again. They want to know what she would want done about resuscitation efforts and the like. I told them to give me a day or two to think.
I drove home in the rain, singing all the sad songs I've ever written.
This is still the dry season here, but for the second week in a row, the rain comes down steadily making the freeways slick and the drivers stupid. The radio said it's the wettest October in twenty years.
I believe it.

Singin' in the Rain
My thoughts and prayers are still with Jeanne and you.
I totally agree about all the Liquid Sunshine we have been receiving here in Southern California over the past two weeks. Also, you are totally correct that the rain seems to have the effect of lowering the intelligence of most drivers. I avoided two near accidents by only inches yesterday. It no longer surprises me that LA has one of the highest insurance rates going considering the drivers around here.
Love,
Cindy
Keeping you both in my thoughts
It's a tough time Erin, but all of us are thinking of you and Jeanne. The Internet isn't always the best source of moral support, but I hope it's something.
I'll rub my lucky rabbit's foot for you as well. It's lucky because it's still attached to my bunny and she's quite happy about that. :)
