I have something to share, but its a little complicated, so please bear with me.

I had ... an experiance? a vision? a stray thought? Not sure, but to explain it I have to do a little history first.

In 1980, Mt. St. Helens erupted in one of the biggest volcanic eruptions in North America in my lifetime. Lava and hot ash burned a huge area and the sky turned grey as far away as Calgary.

But 30 years later, life is returning to the area, and slowly the mountainside is turning back to green.

Most interestingly, it was observed that the first plants to come back would grow in a pattern of an animal like a moose. At first it was believed this was just a trick of the eye, but examination of the soil showed that where animals died, the ground became rich with nutrients that aided the plants in thier growth.

With that bit of history out of the way, let me share my experiance.

I found myself in ... not quite a garden, but something between that an a wilderness preserve. Like the area around Mt. St. Helens, the landscape had suffered some major catastophe, and the scars were still visible.

But you could also see the beauty, espcially in the flowers that were reclaiming the damaged areas.

Then there was a figure beside me, and somehow I knew it was God, who told me "This garden is you."

I found myself unable to deny it.

I am damaged, and there are wild weeds in places, but there is still beauty inside me if I am willing to see it.

What do you guys think?

We are all damaged in God's perfect world but the world we live in is not perfect for obvious reasons. No matter what the self righteous, bigoted religious part of society preaches and yells, I am still a child of God and as messed up as I seem, I am created in His image.

Yes I can agree with your vision/dream because out to the ashes of my life, amidst the ruin, destruction and the buried corpse of that old person I once was, a garden has grown. I would be pompous and egotistical to say there are not weeds and dry areas but that just means I have a lot of improving yet to do.

Thanks for your post.
