Texas used to be a Democratic state,
Dallas is a mix of both parties. They also have a lot of local ordinances that protected the LBGTQ community, but the Texas State Legislature seems intent on stripping those out.
There are a few liberal cities in Texas, it is a closely held secret that Dallas is one of them. This does not apply to its metroplex.
