Would you believe that I thought of that very song when I saw the title of this blog? The version I'm familiar with is the Spike Jones version, recorded and released in the late 40s? 50s? I can't remember. I also can't remember whether it was two-part or four-part harmony. Reminded me of a barbershop quartet. It was released on the back of a popular single 45RPM record, "William Tell Overture." But despite the straight perfect rhythm, the intonation, and the clear articulation, it had to be recalled: "Over and under and then up for air" was heard by too many listeners as "Over and under and then up her ass".

I live by the sea and have always lived by it, although the actual coast varies. I've lived inland for no longer that two months at a time and don't like it. Right now I'm on the UK East Coast next to two international ports with ferries and freighters to everywhere else on the planet, or so it would seem.
Unfortunately the traditional seaside leisure and nightlife died here in the 70s or the 80s so we have beaches, a pier or two, and not much else (oh, for those in the know we have a Blue Flag).
Other than that the air is really good (the ships have strict emissions controls), respiratory disorders here are rare unless there's an underlying cause. It's also the driest corner of the UK so not much rain, but plenty of North Sea,

Meeting up.
It's always been an ambition of mine to meet up with Cyclist (Steph), and this evening it was fulfilled. I had a nice long quiet 'fireside' chat with Steph at the Royal Albion Hotel. Later she also met two of the notorious 'Welsh invasion' crew who came down to Brighton with me to celebrate Jamie's birthday.
After Steph returned home, we three went 'out on the tiles'; for a night of debauchery; Brighton seems rather tame compared with Cardiff it seems the residents of that city are a more genteel society compared to us Welsh.
It Always Rains In Brighton
And the beach is made of large stones, not sand, and the sea is bloody cold. It was a good place to come from. I know because I did.
Having said all that I hope you girls have a great time. Seeing as it's April probably indoors will be best.
