Well, I have some amazing news to share.

I got a call from Dr. Meltzer in Scotsdale, Arizona about me coming in for an evaluation about having SRS. Assuming I can get my act together and get a passport, I will be there March 25, 1100 A.M., and then we'll have to see what they have to say.

I am actually shaking and crying, I'm so happy ...

Wonderful news for you. If

Wonderful news for you. If you haven't been to the Scotsdale area of Arizona, you just might find yourself amazed at the view around there, you will be up near the Matzatzal Mountains, which is a just a tad different than merry old England. :) Janice Lynn

Congratulations Dorothy - Best news in a looong while.

Arizona is a stones throw from your home - less travel and more comfort on the return journey. So good to get on with the whole thing while you still have someone around for the recovery period at home. If you remember, I had to find a place to stay for 7 days after leaving the clinic. Aside from the cost, I could have looked after my self with a lot less fuss but the Doc insisted that I have someone on hand 24/7 just in case.

Getting a Canadian passport is simple - just go to a Service Canada office with your medicare card, 2 photographs (the ones done in the pharmacy are fine) and birth certificate, don't contest that it might say M instead of F - I have witnessed the staff accepting to show the correct designation based on the obvious presentation in front of them. When I went for my last passport, I took my camera with me & had the technician use it to provide me with a digital photograph that matches my passport. I do not know what the charge for a passport has risen to but my current one - good for only 5 years - was around $80 or so.

All the best for your consultation in Arizona.

May the sun always shine on your parade

Cool

I met him 14 years ago when I had my consultation with him when he was still in Portland, Oregon, He seemed really nice and he was one of two recommended surgeons back then, the other one being Schrang with whom I ultimately went ith. He was kind enough to ask how old I was even though I was 38 :).

The key to having any GRS surgeon accept you is for health requirements are met. Problem conditions I believe diabetes, general poor health, especially bad obesity is a problem as it will interfere with the surgery.

Best Wishes and Goddess Bless You.

Wow!

That's just awesome hun!!! So happy for you!
