Breezy start to June

but mostly dry!

As predicted on Sunday, this week has started rather weirdly. Monday was nice and bright but that wind was still lifting skirts! Normally i'd take a walk, get some groceries etc but this week i ended up riding down to Bath to meet my Bro for lunch. (he's currently chauffeuring a small group of North Americans around a few sometimes obscure tourist spots across England) We chatted, ate, chatted some more but all too soon it was time to go our respective ways.

Tuesday dawned damp and windy, drier weather was due in but it was almost lunch before i set off on two wheels. TBH i wasn't that enthused with going far given the 30Kt winds so i ended up just doing a bit of a loop on some of Bristols rather tame mountain bike trails, stopping briefly for tea and cake before another loop sent me back towards base. Total for the two days was a mere 70km.

Today, well first job was to pack a few more bits of dolls house stuff i've sold on Ebay, it'll not make me rich but every little helps right? This month i'm particularly running a tight budget, March book sales were abysmal and with a trip up to GOC in @ a fortnight i might well end up on the baked bean diet! As such, today's grocery shop was just for essentials, no treats but maybe thats for the best, i can do with losing a bit more weight lol!

The new story is coming along, some parts of the plot are taking a while to develop but i'm getting there. The fruit is coming along nicely in the garden - the cherries in particular are starting to look spectacular! Even my feet are trying to get in on the act with these fruity numbers!

The weather towards the weekend continues to be quite mixed, hopefully i can get out for a couple of decent-ish rides before my next post and get another solid writing session in. Next job today is making a fruit crumble utilising some garden fare, early crops of raspberries, a few strawberries, black currants and a couple of sticks of rhubarb although it will be supplemented with some bought fruit.

I'll be back at the weekend but for now,
Tschuss,
Madeline Anafrid
