and it's even got into double figures!
We're not getting too excited though, it's March after all, a month known for wet and wind. Doesn't mean we can't enjoy it though.
This week has so far been, well, uneventful. I can't remember how i filled Monday other than a trip to the shops. What i did do is organise a mini trip for later in the month.
Obviously it's on a tight budget, funds are tight after all, so its just three days, using the bike as primary transport.
- Day one will be ride south to Lyndhurst in the New Forest where i have a cheap bed & breakfast for two nights.
- Day two is a trip to the Isle of Wight via the Lymington/Yarmouth ferry, hope fully i'll be taking in The Needles, Carisbrooke Castle & Cowes before my return to Lyndhurst.
- Day three is the return to Brizzle
The last time i stayed in the New Forest was some 50 years ago and the last time i had a bike on the IOW was 1979! So it's a mini adventure with a mini budget but its a break from routine before Easter pushes prices up.
Yesterday, Tuesday, was a bit more 'exciting' generally. I didn't fancy a long day on the bike despite the milder weather so Aunty Bev joined me on a ride down to Bath for a butty, then, on the return, we stopped at our usual nursery to pick up some veggie seeds. Not sure what got into me, on our return to the house i then spent the afternoon turning over the veg beds and tidying up a bit after the winter before installing the new water butt that has been stood accusingly waiting since before Xmas! There is a bit more bed prep to do before anything is planted but it feels good to have made a start.
I'm as yet undecided on todays 'programme', a slightly longer walk mayhap? As for the rest of the week, well its a return to longer rides tomorrow and Saturday, hopefully i'll be close to my target for the charity fund raising, so far i've done 140km out of 320km so potentially it'll be complete by my next post. Thank you to everyone who has contributed, if you haven't and would like to go here where you can see my progress and make a donation.
Enjoy your week, see you on Sunday,
Tschussie,
Madeline Anafrid
