or is it?
Well as i told you last time, yesterday we scattered my Fathers ashes out on the North Yorkshire Moors, where he rejoined Mum. It was a difficult day but it draws a line under things, well almost. The last job was to honour his request for division of the remaining estate which we sorted later on, There wasn't a huge amount, but it was more than i expected, my share will cover a short trip away and a few beers.
But lets go back a few days. Thursday was my north bound travel day, the train ended up arriving in GOC late due to issues in the Midlands, i eventually reached my destination @ 18.45 after departing Brizz @ 15.30, the final leg adding a further 45 minutes to the journey.
Friday, other than a walk to IKEA for lunch, i spent doing more clearing out at the house, every drawer, every cupboard brings new horrors and delights, and lots of dross! If you've done this sort of thing you know what i mean, There is a lot more to do, i will tackle a bit more before i depart tomorrow but good progress has been made.
Saturday i travelled up to Leeds to spend some time with my kidlings and help with some DIY - not that i'm brilliant at it but for number one daughter it's a whole new experience as her Ex did all this sort of stuff before. So we measured, checked, cut and fitted two window blinds in her bathroom then i sorted some issues with #1 grandsons bike - the handlebars weren't fitted properly and neither brake really worked, its a wonder he hadn't been seriously injured.
Yesterday, after breakfast we took #1 GS out for a bike ride, he's only recently managed to master the art and i'm sure the issues with the bike hadn't helped. With handlebars facing forward and brakes that required less effort and more control, you'd think he'd been riding a lot longer, he certainly exuded confidence and followed instruction very well, even managing to propel himself uphill despite the bike's shortcomings! The next job is sorting a bike out for #1 so they can go riding together - anyone got a folding bike in decent condition they want to dispose of? That's my new project - as if i don't have enough bike stuff to sort out!
Today i'm around Sheffield, seeing friends, a bit of window shopping then later cooking a chilli for my brother - that's what he asked for so i guess that's what i'm doing!
I return to Brizzle late tomorrow and things should be almost back to normal from there onwards.
The next Gaby chapter, The Fuldaness of Time is now up, enjoy and i'll be back again on Wednesday with more tales of Madeline Anafrid!
Tschussie,
Mads.
