So, I was wondering around the Taste of Edmonton, and I saw this beautiful skirt.

It was in my favorite color (3 guesses which one), and it fit me.

But I had to pass it up because it was $200.00.

Sometimes, it sucks being a responsible adult.

Buu-uuut, you do get to go home, and ...

... say:

"By golly, 'I done it right'."

Something that helps me with decisions like this, is to equate the amount in question to the endless list of other things I want.

And when I find that I want all of those other thingies =more= than I want this current 'Object of Desire' that is in front of me at this moment - Then saying 'No', and walking away is easy -er- OK, walking is easier.

For me, a $200 'lust object' is more than two months of my credit card interest payments, or three weekly grocery trips, or {mumble} times what I kick monthly into BCTS, or eight Kiva.org loans, ...

You get the idea.

So now that your Adult has had to be a pain ... let your 'Kid' have a treat and celebrate "Adulting."

Tea & biscuits/cookies, or that book/magazine you've been meaning to, or even raid your closet for something nice.

- For me this might be some Girl Scout cookies with milk, or my "Four Bean Smoothie" - I use coffee beans, soy beans, cacao beans and vanilla beans. In other words, hot coffee with cacao, soy milk and a dab of vanilla extract. Plus maybe cinnamon.

Anyhow, Welcome to Adulting. And, yeah it sucks about like you think it does ...
