An update for everyone:
Piper is hard at work on the site figuring out what's going on and trying to fix it. Part of that process is involving a lot of backups and a lot of software updates. As a result, there is a chance the site may go down for an extended period of time as we work on the issues.
We apologize for the interruptions this is causing, but ultimately our goal is to keep the site a safe place to visit and post your fiction and comments.
At this time we are still not sure what all will be necessary to fix the issues, so plans and timelines are subject to change.

Hi again, Mel! I was very excited to see the site live again this afternoon! It feels a bit slow loading things, though, so I'm wondering whether you're still working out bugs. Any update?

Things'll be slow for a bit longer.
We're running on only a subset of our servers at the moment, so things are going to be a bit slow and possibly a little glitchy for a bit longer :)

Thanks to all of you. It's a great relief to see the site back up. We can put up with "slow"; it's a lot better than "zero".
And so say all of us!
A huge thank you to the wonderful job which Piper has done to keep going through this horrible attack.
It must have been a nightmare for everyone, and the timing is a terrible shame after the fantastic success of the recent competition, which must have seen "footfall" increase.
I am sure that I can speak for many of us in saying a heartfelt "Thank You".
