to disrupt my schedule!

But we'll get to that in a minute, first lets catch up a bit. Thursday then, a dry forecast tempted me out for a longish ride on the bonus day, out to Chippenham for a roadside sausage and chips, dry yes but the wind kept any pretense at warmth strictly in single digits. The return ran almost parallel to the out until a road closure pushed me south to return via Bath. 108km all told with a little shy of 800m of up, my first century since my birthday.

Friday was a day of shopping, restocking the freezer and food for the weekend, the highlight of the day being a proper mucky curry from the Chinese for my tea. I'd already reconciled myself with not riding on Saturday, no point in getting wet if you don't have to, but i certainly wasn't expecting to wake up to @ 4cm of snow! How did that happen? Its certainly the most snow i've seen in these parts even if it had almost cleared by mid afternoon, victim to light drizzle and warmer temperatures.

All of which meant i was looking forward to my delayed ride today, i set off under bright skies and even a good dose of sunshine, initially at least, i headed for Oldbury to partake of tea and cake. It wasn't freezing but 4/5c is hardly warm so i didn't linger too long, starting a long loop back via Berkeley before heading east to climb onto the Cotswold massif. There was still a reasonable amount of snow on more sheltered ground and looking back over the Severn revealed the Brecon Beacons to be snow clad too.

I made my way south along the edge, well as close as the roads go, before dropping down to the Avon and the last few kilometres back. 'Only' 106km today but almost 100m more climbing. Then, after removing the sweat and grime in the shower, it was time to cook dinner - this week it was pork loin steaks with roasted Mediteranean vegetables and boiled taters. No room left for dessert!

I have of course uploaded more Gaby today, Grönberg is part 27 of On The Edge, i hope you enjoy it.

This week i'm having a micro break, a ride down Salisbury way on Tuesday, overnight in a b&b then back on Wednesday which means the midweek update may be a bit late.

Thats it for today,
Tschussie,
Madeline Anafrid
