of Advent for any God botherers out there, a fortnight to party season for the rest of us!
Its been a crappy few days weatherwise here in King Alfred's land, lots of drizzly wet, some stiff winds and cold enough for a vest - and maybe a top coat!
Thursday was wet as in 'i'm not riding in that' wet so instead of a ride i hit the keyboard eventually completing another chapter of the new Gaby tome.
The forecast for Friday was brighter, maybe some afternoon showers so i set off en velo to get in a decent ride. It was nothing special, often ridden roads across the Cotswolds then down into Stroud where i stopped for lunch. It had been mostly dry so far but the sky held that promise of wet and indeed, gave a sprinkle as i ate my sausage, egg & chips. Outside once more and a return into the wind, i seemed to dodge most of the wet but inevitably i got caught a couple of times, enough to make me quite damp.
By the time i got back to Cabot Town it was getting dark, the lights were on and i remembered why you need to get out early for winter rides. I stopped the clock with a bit over 125km under the belt, my longest ride for a few weeks.
Wet, windy, well that summed up Saturday. I was on a writing mission now as the end of the new Gaby is in sight. I bashed those keys for much of the day and reached 3400 words, a slightly longer chapter than usual. That leaves just four more chapters to write to complete Book 28. For those of you collecting the book in parts, Part 6 is now up on Kindle, its a little shorter than usual so i've made it a bit cheaper too, click on the image to go direct and help me to support Big Closet.
I'll be pushing on this week with the writing, hopefully i'll be able to put the concluding bit out before i head to GOC or at worst before i go to Germany in 12 days time. As usual, Patreon supporters will get to read the individual chapters as they wroted. The plan has always been to have the full book out on the various platforms around New Year, i'm happy to say that, for once, i'm on schedule to do that. I will be taking a break from Gaby writing at that point, i have other projects i want to do, there's more to tell in some of my other series plus i need to decide on a plot for Book 29!
Okay, back to the present, i've uploaded Chapter 15 of On The Edge for your delectation and delight. Gaby is in great form, having fun, entertaining her friends and complaining about the food!
I'll go for a short ride after lunch, its supposed to be dry and bright and i need to get out and stretch the legs a bit. Then, on my return, i'm doing us a sort of roast dinner, there will be roasties, there will be Yorkies, there will be a heavy pudding of the seasonal type to follow! There might even be alcoholic beverage - well it is the season of over indulgence!
That's it for now,
Tak,
Madeline Anafrid
