Sorry for the erratic postings but my access to the interweb is a bit sporadic this week.

Since my last post we have had some more weather in King Charles Land so Fridays ride, whilst essentially dry and bright was marred by having to negotiate quite a few flooded roads but it came out @ 115km even if i did need lights for the last few. Saturday was spent wrapping Chrimbo prezzies and putting together #1 Grandsons advent calendar before i packed everything up for the trip north. The weather was a bit mucky for the journey north on Sunday but it was uneventful and i spent the afternoon / evening catching up with the family, Tuesday being more of the same either side of going to do the weekly shop.

Which brings us to today. Yep, today was never going to be great, i did my best to stay in control during the service but i think i need new washers as the eyes spontaneously started to leak half way through and wouldn't let up despite my best attempts. It was well attended, which goes to show how well he was thought of by those he crossed paths with. Of course the hurt goes on, Friday i'll be going to the house to assess his bike fleet but hopefully now we've said farewell we can move on with our memories.

As for the rest of the week, well i'd like to get in a day's walking, maybe in the Peak District and on Saturday four generations of the family will be meeting up - my Daughter bringing the GS to Sheffield to see the grand and great grand parental units. Sunday is another travel day, a midday departure meaning the full day is taken.

So there we are, if i get a chance for another post you'll hear from me but no promises.
Tschussie,
Madeline Anafrid

I thought of you last Friday

When I visited the Cafe/Bike Shop at Hawes Station.
I and three others had spent the morning in a wood not that far away photographing Red Squirrels. The place was very soggy with water literally running off the hillside.
I'm glad that the ceremony went well despite the waterworks.
Enjoy the rest of your visit to GOC.

Glad that it went fairly well

I was thinking about you too. I hope that you managed a walk in the Peak, but Wednesday and Thursday have been pretty grotty here in Nottnum, miduck.
We are planning a walk in the White Peak tomorrow, which, at least, looks dry.
