My latest effort in my Gaby Dorset trilogy is with my editor having its 'ead 'it. I hope to get it to Mad over the weekend, and presumably she'll add it to her site when she does the next update. I'll post a link - if I can remember when it goes up. There's a bit of a bike race in this one, just for a change.

Bloody Hills!

My cycling group did a thirty miler, which seemed to be forever climbing hills today - not hard in Dorset, place is full of them, 'delightful rolling countryside' say the visitors. They don't usually try to ride up them.

I am totally cream crackered, as the Cockney's would say. However, I have finished a complete story for the gabycon next weekend (8.5k words)which I will post here after it's been up on Maddy's site.

Gaby's Trial

Gaby’s Trial.
By Angharad.
(A story based on the characters created by Maddy Bell).

This story was written for the 2008 Gabycon.

The doorbell rang and Maddy went to answer it.

“Hi, Maddy, is Gaby around?”

“Somewhere, I think she’s watching a DVD of Lance Armstrong or something. Hang on, I’ll call her. GABS, HARRY’S HERE!”

A moment later the diminutive figure of Gaby Bond aka Drew, came skipping through the house. “Hi, Harry,” she as Gaby, embraced the pleasant young man who stood waiting for her.

Drew stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom; it was still a bit misted up despite his opening the window a little. He gazed at his body and felt sad. He’d been out for a training ride, but had forgotten to fill his water bottle, so had to stop and buy some from a village shop. His mind drifted back to the event.
