Since Drabbles are short and quick to read, and presently numerous, a new policy on drabbles seems to be needed. Drabbles will stay in the yellow only 3 to 5 days instead of 6 to 10 like longer stories.

How odd.

This is one of the very few places where I can
come, and there are people here weirder than me.

It’s like we’ve all been gathered her together
for some unknown purpose, like the Flotsam and
jetsam of the mind.

I'm trying to figure out if I'm more flotsam than jetsam, or vice versa.... might have to dribble a drabble about it....

There really are a lot of stories right now. :)

So, 2 to 7 days for drabbles or poetry, 7 to 12 days for standalone stories, 5 to 10 days for chapters. That's time in the yellow part of the front page.

Addition: Reposts from Classic can be moved down after 3 days if the front page is crowded. Reposts or re-edits posted as new entries of stuff that's already on TopShelf can be moved down immediately unless things are really slow.

Hugs,
erin

Drabbles Dribble In

A good drabble is a thing of art in which we witness precisely one hundred words that tell the story, the whole story, and nothing but the story.

Your new standards seem well-conceived.

I think...

Accomplishing the story in EXACTLY 100 words is a fun (and sometimes challenging) exercise!

And one I cannot practice.

I usually try to hit that magical memory limit where my PSP won't let me post another letter, around seventy medium length words or so. I don't spend any time editing, but I did abandon both titles and character names to try and maximize available word count.

Funnily enough, this discounts my own stuff being drabbles from the most strict sense of the term, but I hope I can be forgiven.
