It was “Like” Magic

By Rachel Anne Keller

Monday November 2

Kimberly, Tracie, Donna, and Pamela were waiting for their friend Nicole at the bus stop when they saw her running up the street with her green and black plaid school skirt flying in the breeze.  They all laughed as they watched her trying to tell them something before she even had a chance to catch her breath.  She finally calmed down enough to be able to speak properly.

“Oh My God, you are never going to believe what you missed seeing at the Civic Center Halloween Party last Saturday.”

As the other girls all clamored trying to ask her questions at the same time Nicole started waving her hands in the air attempting to get a word in edgewise.

“HEY, if you’ll hush for a second I’ll tell you, GOD, like get real.”

The others finally all quieted down and allowed Nicole to get her bearings and begin to tell them her story.

“Like you are never going to believe this, but I swear it’s like totally true.  Well you all know Cindy, right?  Well she’s in Mrs. Hawthorn’s homeroom and is going with that real cute blonde guy, Cameron?  Well she talked him into wearing one of her cheerleader outfits and making them look like twins.  God, you wouldn’t believe it unless you had seen it like I did but I swear he looked just like her.  Like seriously, he had cleavage and everything, and you know how Cindy is built.  I mean GOD like she has the nicest figure.  I’d kill to look like that.  I don’t have any idea how they did it but like he looked like he had real breasts, and his waist was just as little as hers too.  I’ve never really looked at Cindy’s butt before, (I’m not like a lesbian or anything.), but when I saw his I compared it to hers, I swear it looked exactly the same.  I mean he really looked like he had a girl’s butt.”

“Tony, my date, even copped a feel and he told me that Cameron’s tits felt just like a real girls.  I like screamed how did he know how a girls breasts felt, cause I have like NEVER let him feel me up, and he told me I was his first girlfriend.  He turned all red and couldn’t come up with a convincing lie.  I am like so over him.  I will never talk to that creep again.  But I was like telling you about Cameron and Cindy.  Well even his legs looked so cute, I mean like I think Cindy shaved them and everything.  I’ve never wanted anything to do with another girl, but Oh My God, *whispering* looking at Cameron dressed like that made my panties wet.”

“Well all the guys there that didn’t have dates were hitting on both of them cause they like couldn’t tell them apart.  It was so funny.  But they said they were like “Lesbians”, can you believe it?  Oh My God I laughed so hard.  You know they looked so cute dancing the fast songs together with their cheer skirts flying up when they spun around showing their cheer panties.  You know I swear he was even wearing a bra and panties cause you could see the outline of his bra straps through that tight top the cheerleaders wear and he didn’t have any VPL at all.  So he had to be wearing a pair of thong panties, cause there is no way he wasn’t wearing any at all.”

“Well they even danced together during the slow songs, and I couldn’t even tell who was leading.  It was kinda creepy at first when they kissed, but I mean they weren’t really lesbians, so after a while it was even kinda sweet.  Well everything was going great till just before the party was supposed to end.  Well I was in the girls bathroom when they both came in (none of us real girls said anything about Cameron being in there, cause like would you have wanted to go in the guys wearing that outfit?  Like, no way, Jose.).”

“Anyway I was washing my hands when Cameron went into the stall to pee and the next thing I knew I heard him give this blood curdling high pitched scream.  I mean like one of the girls in a horror flick that was just about to die, even.  So Cindy and I ran and opened the door and Cameron was just sitting there with his panties pulled down and his skirt up, crying.  I mean like I have never see a guy cry like that before even when Suzy kicked that boy in the balls last year.

Cindy knelt down by him and asked him what was wrong and like he just kept crying and mumbling ‘They’re gone, they’re gone’ over and over again.”

“Well I went out and found one of the chaperones I can’t remember who she was but she came in and started talking to Cameron and finally got him to tell her what was wrong and (crying his eyes out the whole time) he told her that his penis and balls were gone and he looked like a girl down there now.  Well she just looked at him real funny and kinda mumbled, “Why would a girl think she was a boy?”

Then Cindy told her that he was her boyfriend and he was only dressed as a girl for Halloween and she really freaked out.  She whipped out her cell and called 911 and tried to tell them what had happened, but I think they didn’t believe her so she just yelled at them that if they did not dispatch an ambulance like immediately, that she would sue the city.”

The girls all looked at her dumbfounded; each and every one thought that their friend had finally totally lost it.  The bus pulled up in front of them and the girls got on and moved towards their normal seats. Gathered once more, Nicole continued with her story.

“Well anyway, the police and ambulance both showed up and when they finally figured that she was serious, they took all four of us to the hospital.  After running a bunch of tests and talking to Cameron and Cindy’s parents, the doctors were really wigging out.  They said that Cameron’s’ tests showed that he was as close to being Cindy’s identical twin as they had ever seen.  But like the doctor that delivered Cindy was there, and swore that Cindy was a single birth, and that due to complications he’d been forced to perform a hysterectomy on her mother that night to stop the blood loss.  So like they called all these specialists in to consult with them and no one could figure out what happened.”

“Well it was really late, well more like really early Sunday morning when a nurse screamed and all the doctors ran back into the room where Cameron was.  Now it gets really bizarre.

It seems that the nurse screamed cause Cameron had taken off one of his breasts and she had thought he was trying to kill himself by mutilation.  But when the doctors examined him they only found a little blood but no wound, and the breasts (he had taken them both off by this time) were prosthetics.  The freaky part of this is when they had checked him when he first came in they had confirmed that they were real.  Then they ran all the tests again and they came out normal for a boy this time.”

“Now I know you are just going to say I made this up and if Cameron and Cindy tell you the same you will just say were are all trying to pull a prank on you.  But watch the news on television tonight when you get home cause I was watching the early news this morning and they said that this wasn’t the only case where a boy had turned into a girl on Halloween.  It seems like every boy that dressed as a girl this year turned into one.  The really weird part, is that a lot of them never turned back into boys.  Only the ones that were upset with the change turned back.  The ones that were happy are all still girls.”

As the bus pulled up to the school the other girls all broke in and exclaimed that it could never have happened, because no boy would be happy being turned into a girl.  At that point another girl getting off the bus in front of them spoke up.  None of the others recognized her.

“So no boy could ever want to be a girl huh?  Well I always hated being a boy.  I dressed up as a girl every Halloween, and prayed every night that I would wake up a real girl.”

“Then Saturday I wore the cutest little costume. It look me weeks to make it and my parents were really upset that I wanted to go out as a girl again this year. They were hoping I would outgrow wanting to dress up as a girl every Halloween.

Well I was dressed as a white sorceress in a little white mini-dress with crescent moons and stars embroidered all over it and I even made a wand using the instructions in The Great Book of Saint Cyprian (this strange old book I found in a second hand book store) it was really weird, but fun.  Well I cast a spell while I was out walking around (I never cared about candy) I mean, I just made it up off the top of my head.”

“I never would have believed it could possibly work but I felt really weird for a second, and then I was a girl.  It was Like magic.  Then I heard that some other boys had also changed, so I came up with a different spell that made it so only those that liked it would stay girls.  I mean, I only wanted to be happy. I never meant to hurt anyone.”

All six girls were by this time walking into their home room.  The new girl turned around at the door.

“By the way you already know me. Well you knew me Friday, that is.  My name was Teddy (Theodore) but now my name is Tina.”

Tina turned back and walked into the room, walked to the same seat Teddy had always sat in, and sweeping her uniform skirt under her as she sat down, looked back smiled at the other five girls.

Kimberly, Tracie, Donna, Pamela, and Nicole all stood at the door to their homeroom, their eyes bulging out of their sockets and their jaws on the floor, just staring at the girl that they had all been friends with as a boy since kindergarten.

The End.

Not Sure Why...

...this ended up at the bottom of the front page instead of the top. I'm guessing that's the reason the read count's still only in double digits as I write this.

Anyway, a nice straightforward story which ends before all the complications can set in and distract us from the plot. (But where did Tina's uniform skirt come from? Not from the magic, and not from any of the girls on the bus.) Well presented -- the decision to have a bystander tell it works nicely, though there's no explanation as to why Nicole would have gone to the hospital with them and then stayed until after the change back.

Anyway, an enjoyable story, with a nice two-way pun in the title, though it may have taken me longer than it should have to seen it: "like" as in similarity magic, working on everyone in Ted/Tina's situation, and then the second spell allowing those who didn't "like" it to switch back.
