Technical writing is a necessary evil but Tech Writing courses are an invention of the devil.

I have too much homework today and most probably will not get an episode posted.

Sorry, but I hope to do better tomorrow,

Just the facts Mam.

Oh, I so get this! prior to 1990, I spent many years doing technical writing about various projects in which I was involved. Thus when I started doing creative writing the transition was very difficult, and in 2009, I am not sure I am there yet. I initially started taking college classes in an effort to help my then wife get through an English Composition course. I had no idea what so ever that the effort at creative writing would begin to open windows into my own soul, and eventually lead to my own transition from man to WOMAN.

Many Blessings

Technical Writing....

may be evil... But, it is also not a BAD preparation for writing in general... To write clear, grammatically correct, sentences really helps an author's prose as well. I spent 30 years writing technically before I was willing to try my hand at fiction again (and this required much pushing/encouragement by some others here).

Best of luck to you on your homework. :-)

Thanks for your views

I have done a lot of report writing for software docs, repair reports, etc. I avoided it when I was being paid to do it, and now that I have to not only do it for a grade, but pay for the privilege, I hate it with a passion.

To be honest, the only reason I write poetry and fiction is to scratch those itches in my brainpan. The muses get pushy and I have to see where they are taking me. I rarely plan what I am going to do, at least not consciously. At lot of my plot twists are as big a surprise to me as to you!

Some of it is cathartic (spelling??), too. What amazes me most, though, is that not only do other people read it, but a few of you even seem to enjoy it!

Thanks again,
DD
