Danged if you aren't prolific, Tanya
And though you say these are works in progress, they read more like last proof versions. Most enjoyable.

I would take issue with only one thing
You have Christina saying that the church should get rid of gay priests. It is quite possible, of course, that this does not reflect a personal view.
Sadly, If you rid the church of them, where do you stop? Should you also get rid of the blind, deaf, autistic, one-legged, wheelchair users, and those with other, maybe congenital, conditions?
The Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) was founded by a gay man after he was thrown out of his seminary. Acceptance of minorities is one of the founding principles of the MCC.
If you accept that I have liver, blood, vision, plumbing and maybe other problems, and if I were a minister of religion, for which condition should I be expelled from the church? Bearing in mind, of course that God allowed me to be made in God's image.
For a human to assume the role of God is very dangerous. According to the Bible, Jesus Christ said "I draw ALL to myself". Archbishop Desmond Tutu has emphasised the word 'ALL'.
Other than that comment, I find your writing to be uplifting and enjoyable to read. I look forward to further developments in your 'Work in Progress'.

Er, I actually have an additional bone to pick there.
You said to get rid of the pedophiles and gay priests, as though they were even similar in any way.
Pedophilia is its own sickness.
I hate to find myself so deeply offended in the midst of such a good story.
Point taken
Apologies for any offence caused. This was taken in a context of predatory priests, for which we've recently had a series of court cases. I have taken your comments to heart and have changed the work in question. These are works in progress. Thanks for your observations.

Second Chance 2
I only just read chapter 2 and nothing there offended me; so you must have done your editing. I was a long time Christian, and was slated to go to Bible School. Even before I came out, I found the very things that Chris mentioned to be extremely distressing, and the more I worked with management, the worse it got. I was 4Square, and believe me once I was outed, they shat me out like a missle out of a sub. I knew that I had no control over the daemon within me and prayed piteously for many years before Gwen came busting out like a Gorean Kajirae. It was the hideous treatment that the Christian Community subjected me to that eventually led me to forsake it. I tried a stint at MCC too, but found that I had no taste at all for the pomp and ceremony.
I still loved God as seriously as Chris, and that is the reason that I eventually converted to Islam; only to find that they have just as many problems as Christians do. If you could get rid of the people, the religion would be fine. :) I still absolutely love the prayer ritual; it being my solitary expression of my absolute adoration of the one who made us all.
What ever church that Chris settles at, if she does, I want to go to that one.
