Yesterday, I clicked on one of the Jewel Box links on the TopShelf home page. It was Jewel Box Two: a page listing "stories that appeared on Big Closet approximately two years ago today."
Scrolling down towards the bottom, what do we see?
Next to one another are the first two episodes of EAFOAB, with part 1 dated July 17, 2007. Funnily enough, the events of the past week have seen the destruction of one Cathy's very expensive carbon-fibre bikes, as happened in the original episode.
Angharad, I don't know how you've managed to sustain this creative effort over the past (nearly) two years, but I for one am grateful that you have. Life wouldn't be nearly so complete without its daily fix of Cathy, Simon and the girls, not forgetting Tom and Stella and the myriad of assorted characters who appear from time to time.
Judging by votes and reads, you've definitely gathered a significant following of loyal readersa group among which I count myself. I hope you'll find it within yourself to continue this rivetting tale.
I'm still waiting for the big wedding.

A Proposal
I propose that the Big Closet community at the very least show their appreciation to Angharad by finding a way for people to sign a digital document attesting to our gratitude. Better yet, I propose we take up a collection to buy her something and have Erin send it to her if Angharad so permits.

Angharad, I can say with perfect honesty that you are a large part of my inspiration for writing S.E.G. The amount of GOOD prose you turn out day after day is actually intimidating but I chose to be inspired instead. ::smile::

Talk of liniment takes me back to my chemistry-teaching days. It was always a favorite part of organic chemistry to make esters. The main ingredient of liniment is an ester.
Esters have amazingly sweet/fruity scents, and students really enjoyed producing and identifying different ones.
The ester most commonly used in liniment is methyl salicylate, aka oil of wintergreen.
I wonder if Angharad uses liniment? Of course, Cathy couldn't/shouldn't use it with her present injuries.
