Author:
Someone recently checked in on me, so I wanted to let everyone know—I’m alive. I’m struggling with the state of things in the U.S. and feeling scared, but I’m here. I’m trying to be okay, and I’m not going anywhere.
For those who remember me, I’m working on my latest series: a queer, arcane-industrial fantasy with a trans protagonist. It’s a Norse-inspired world with original gods, creatures, and myths—familiar themes with a unique twist. This story has been decades in the making, born from an idea I once shelved, fearing it was too ambitious. So far, I’ve written about 230,000 words across the series and am nearing completion of the second book.
Here’s the blurb for the first book:
In the city of Wyrdheim, ruled by the theocratic New Voluskar Order, where arcane magic and ancient technology entwine, Silfra Keegard’s search for answers takes a fateful turn when an Aeldstorm—one of the strange, reality-distorting tempests that rack the world of Heimshuhl—deposits a woman with a tekknik embedded in her wrist at her feet. Life spirals out of control, and Silfra, joined by Elthar, a former Gothi of the Fifth Order—a battle-hardened warrior priest turned recluse—is forced to flee, setting out on a journey that will carry them across continents and into the unknown.
Pursued by the relentless War Gothi, Silfra, Elthar, and their enigmatic companion Hamari must navigate a labyrinth of secrets, ancient ruins, and perilous frontiers to unearth the truth behind Hamari’s cryptic past. As they cross a world teetering on the brink of chaos, Silfra’s path becomes more than a flight for survival—it is a voyage of gender, identity, and self-discovery. Each step brings them closer to a revelation that could shatter their reality—or reshape it forever.
Oh, and I've also designed the first two book covers.

Looks great!
Are we going to see any of this soon?

= Give everyone the benefit of the doubt because certainty is a fragile thing that can be shattered by one overlooked fact.
Short/long answer
Thank you
Short answer: I really don't know.
Long Answer: There's a lot of stuff going on in my life. Including pride organizing, and we're just ramping up with early plans for our 2025 festival so I'll have less and less free time in the coming months. This will just be the first draft (ish), so I'll probably end up rewriting a lot of it which means further delay.
Have a delightfully devious day,
I was beta reading for you.
I'd love to do some more. Up to the part where that stopped, it was a great story. If you publish it somewhere in an ePub format, I'd be interested in buying it.
Hugs

My life has been hectic. Sorry I will reach out soon for another beta read.
Have a delightfully devious day,
230,000 words SO FAR?
Getting lazy in your old age.
Sounds like a wild ride for us readers.

John in Wauwatosa
And to think....
And to think I used to struggle to even hit 80k words now I'm writing a multipart epic, each being over 300 pages long.
I guess what they say is true a lot of writers tend to get wordier the older they get. I'm only pushing fourty so who knows what my stories will look like when I'm old and gray!
I hope people enjoy my stories when they finally see the light of day.
Have a delightfully devious day,
I Knew You Are OK
Because I've seen your entries on FaceBook, and it seems you've been busy, Daniella! I hope you finish the stories soon.
And you have elicited a comment from John in Wauwatosa! I'm delighted to see him back, so that is an accolade for you.
haha
What can I say I lured him here with cookies. I'm devious that way. ;)
Have a delightfully devious day,
