I've been busy for a while since my last story/chapter went up. I have two ongoing stories on the site at the moment, Toni With An i and Allison. Last summer I paused things for a house move but the house turned out to need more work than anticipated. A few months ago I got sick of only house stuff and started something I've said I'd do, which is work up my stories into novel format.

Toni With An i Book 1 is now pretty much done bar typo spotting. The language is tighter, the flow is better and it reads more as a novel. There's no huge change to the plot in Toni but the emphasis of what's happening and what characters are going through should be clearer to see. It was a lot of work.

I had PM conversations with people here about making "completed" works available in the future, and how it's a good thing. Toni will never be completed. It was never designed to be. It's a serial in the soap opera sense where life continues to happen. What I have now, though, is as traditionally a novel as I can get it. It details Toni's first week as Toni. The plan is to eventually publish it for money however my intention was always to make it available to people who were there from the start on BCTS. If you have an account here that's not completely new and want a copy of the ePub shoot me off a PM with your email address and I'd be delighted to email you a copy. All I'd ask is people come to me if they want it rather than copies being sent out and passed on and on.

The book is as final as it'll ever get apart from typo correcting and whatever cover I finalise on. And I think I've settled on this name for the novel version. Hit me up with an email if you'd like the Special BCTS Loyalty Edition. If you like it then when it goes on the websites I'd ask you leave a review. If you really, really like it and want to "thank" me then buying a copy when it's for sale would be great, but I don't expect that.

The Pattern in My Chest — A Light Avenue Story

Toni With An i Cover

For Tony it was the usual — Lads' Night In. A few beers, some food and the standard deals, bets and dares of his friends’ stupid games. Except Tony — or maybe ‘Toni’ is the better name — couldn’t anticipate what she’d let herself in for. A night of exploration? That’s just the beginning.

What Toni didn’t expect was a life full of love and support from the new friends she’d make — Sally and Jess — as well as new ways of living with old friends. That she'd find people who don’t doubt anything about the woman they encounter, or that one night delving to depths she wasn’t aware existed would bring her to a bright, fresh day after a lifetime of fog.

I won't presume to call you "Stephanie," though it is nice to know your first name. :) But I'm very glad to see you are still active. And, I'm delighted that you've pushed Toni's story into something you are happy publishing; I know just how much extra work that is. I'll PM you with email detail.

But doctor...!

I know it's simply a turn of phrase you were using but I want to say I count posting a story on BCTS as "publishing" a work. There are differences between charging money or putting things on the various commercial sites and putting things on BCTS but the readers are no less real and the story is no less important.

I've been happy with Toni (and infuriated by some of the process) at every step of the way and each step also gave me life. Much as I hope it does for readers.

I read Bike on here when I was college quite a while ago. I've read stories across sites. Amazon, etc. are new. These places, though, are something special. Especially for a group of people like us who've faced so much trouble and anger from bigots, and who still face many obstacles that we'll either leap over gracefully or bulldoze through with sheer force of collective will.

Move Fast, Sell Books

In the true entrepreneurial spirit of the modern age I have no clue what I'm doing and I'm even stupider than that so I expect to be leading the free world within about twelve years.

Considering that, is it ridiculous to set April 2nd as the launch date? That'll be about 18 months which is about how long it takes to write a piece of ridiculous fluff like Toni.

If I miss your message (I'll try to get to them, a lot of you are new to me,) or for anyone who's hesitant about sharing email addresses, this is my website;

Half of Book 1 is covered, now, up until the end of Toni's first weekend after she put on a dress. My social media link is up there, too, and people reaching out would be cool. As would people saying, "Hey, this is an interesting trans woman who's living a rich life!!!" (That's about Toni, btw. I'm not interesting at all! Big-G is cool, tho. Jess and Sally have depths. Trevor is a hero. Steph is a heroine. Steve is a big galoot, etc. I've heard conflicting reports on Greg... Alan is just a gossip.)
