They are not even remotely offering a reasonable justification for such a bias.
Personally I don't think there should be any form of gender based competition in chess in the first place.
Where are the studies that justify that BS?
Last time I checked a chess board is 2D so the 'spatial superiority of males' crap is ridiculous.
Come back when we have 3D chess competitions if you have such complaints.
FWIW, my 3D spatial abilities suck, consequently I suck at more advanced multi-dimensional math and such as I just can't visualize the solution space as readily as other folks.
So, does that mean I am more womanly than those female mathermatical whizzes who consume that kind of math for breakfast?
Where are the male only mathematical competitions since a womens' math skills are so bloody inferior?

I could have entered a general knowledge competition, and I think I could have won, but now I'm not allowed to enter because transitioning has made me smarter? Why don't I feel smarter?
There was a pool competition
There was a pool competition where a woman found out she would have to play a trans woman and refused to play. WHY? do you need big muscles to play pool? What about darts? Chess for god's sake. Are women less intelligent?
Terf feminists tell us women can do anything a man can do, then complain about trans women in "women's sport". Does that make trans women super women?
I can understand it in some cases where a trans woman has transitioned well after puberty, but many sport do not need physical strength.
