Hey everyone, It's been a REALLY long time since I posted a blog here, despite working on a lot of the things behind the scenes still but shit has become very different recently and I was urged to let yall know some of what's going on.
Currently, my little family is homeless. My wife, our son, and I are residing in a single hotel room with the help of an agency but we are only secure here till January 3rd as of right now. The agency might be able to help more, but we don't know yet.
We are working on resources and calling various other agencies for help but being the holidays not much has been found so far.
I'm still working on the servers, and the sites and trying to keep everything running as smoothly as possible but as you might guess, it's become a lot more sporadic as of late.
There are other complications added to all of this that come with being Transgender in a Red/Republican Stronghold in NJ, but I'm not ready to post about any of that as of yet.

Here in Canada, I went through my whole life without ever knowing anybody remotely close to me who was ever even close to being homeless.
Then, first, a few years ago, a friend had it happen. Too fiercely independent for me to help other than letting him stay in my basement until he recovered.
Then, it happened to my sister and her husband. Thank God they had a car. They lived mostly in it for a year before they got housing.
The biggest lesson I learned through that was this; we are all just a very, very few events away from homelessness. No matter how stable we feel. That, and Canada is not very good at making effective resources available for suddenly homeless people who have been contributing, tax-paying citizens for decades.
It seems you have contacted your available resources; a needed, but hard, first step. You're doing the right things, and although I don't know you at all other than what you do here, I sense you have the power to bring your family through this.
GOOD LUCK to you, Piper. With (too much) hard work you're going to get in safe, reasonable housing soon.
Some form of online method of donating to you would be best (with me being in Canada). Would buying books you have on purchase sites work?

He once told me that a big mistake people make is NOT asking for help. He said people want to help and find it extremely enjoyable. By not asking for help you're depriving them of that enjoyment.
Gofundme is an efficient way to facilitate the process. I will find a way to send you $200. You've done a lot for a lot of people, including me.

I'm looking at PayPal as my way to get some coins to you.
In another part of my life [1], I've been using PayPal for nearly 15 years, no problems.
At your end, you would need to have a computer (looks like you do) or a cell phone or a e-mail account.
And a credit (or debit?) card.
Sign up for PayPal (free).
Then let me (us) know what your PayPal id, email, or phone # is. Right here on your Blog, or in a BCTS message to me if you're a tad nervous.
Then, I send the coins via PayPal, you get a message from PP, then you tell them what credit card account to put it in.

I second the PayPal suggestion. If I can get the PayPal ID I do have a little I could take a chance on and send via PP. I'm good for the rest of the month and up till the second Wednesday next month when my SS check comes in.
