That's right! I've finished an actual FULL-ON NOVEL LENGTH STORY! 77k WORDS! WOO!

But for real, I finished the final chapter of the story earlier today and sent it off to Ms. Erin for approval (she did so.)

Normally there would be one chapter of the story each week, but we will *probably* wind up posting the last two chapters to Patreon as a single post, mostly because they're both relatively short (about 2400 words combined.)

I hope people are happy with how I ended things (for now, at least.) I know a lot of people in our community tend to want stories to go on forever and ever, but things gotta end at some point, ya know?

That said, two important notes:

1. This may not be the end of Leigh's tale in the long run. I've got ideas for sequel books down the line, but I won't promise I'll ever write them (though honestly, I think I'll write at least one of them eventually, it might just be another year or so out.)

2. I've got other projects already lined up to fill WK's shoes! There will probably be a few weeks, maybe months, where I won't have a continuing series going up on the BCTS Patreon or here on the site, but I'll try to sneak some shorts in there, and I've got a handful of long-delayed projects I'm considering picking back up, some of which are already in the 20k+ range. One of them is a combination effort between me and Joyce!

So, there's that.

Oh, and we'll probably be releasing the book on Kindle in November, so be prepared for that. When that happens, we'll likely be unpublishing the copies of the chapters posted here on BCTS, and moving the copies on the Patreon to a paid tier. That said, chapters will be available to read for at least a month or so in both places before that happens.

I may or may not have a bonus story included in the book version, it depends on if I get round to writing it or not.

In case I forget to say it later, thanks to everyone who's read and enjoyed the story thus far. I've really liked writing it, and I know I love the characters I've developed over the course of the book (and I hope you do, too!)

*hugs*

No, Thank You!

Really, thank you so much for writing Wednesday Knights. You have created a cast ( but especially Leigh and Brian) about whom I genuinely care, and who have invaded my thoughts "in real life" (whatever that means).
Leigh and Brian's love story was so engaging that it kept me afloat through some recent rough times, whilst I have been caring for my elderly and unwell parent.
For that, more than all else, heartfelt thanks. Lucy xx

what a long strange trip its been."

Thank you, and Congratulations!

Melanie, WK is a great story, and one I really looked forward to reading every week. The characters were believable, the humor was gentle, and your main character was someone we could all root for — and did! It probably took over 60,000 words to get that first kiss, but the journey was fun and the kiss was worth the wait!

With all that said, finding the right place to end a story may be even harder than finding the right place to begin it. I think having everything building towards the live show at the convention gave your story an even pace as well as a natural end-point. I’m glad you’re open to the possibility of sequels— you really have developed a great cast of characters— but I don’t doubt you’ve hit the point in the writing cycle where different characters and plot lines are starting to coalesce in your head, tapping their impatient feet and waiting for their chance to be written.

You are an absolute treasure, Melanie. Thanks for Wednesday Knights, for all of your wonderful stories, and for the gift you are to the BC community.

Hugs,

Emma

I love your stories

But sometimes I just wait for completion before reading stories that are posted in installments, and this is one that I've waited on. I'm not sure if I'll go to Patreon and read it or wait for it on Kindle. But you've gotten so many terrific comments that I can't wait. Thanks for sharing your works with us. :DD

Stories don't go on forever? Or appear to. A certain one began in 2007 and is still running.! (no one reads it but who cares?)

Angharad

Hmm, if we zombiefy that

Hmm, if we zombiefy that author then that series will continue until our sun turns into a red giant. >:->

Most life would be extinct in 250M years as temperatures would be like the Permian. Which is umpteen billion years before the red giant episode.

Only Five Billion

Only five billion or so years. That's still after the collision between the Milky Way Galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy, and long after the completion of the cannibalization of the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy.

Gonna be...

Sad to see this one end... The underlying story subject having been close to my heart and the hours I've escaped this planet playing with some amazing DM's - hooked me from the start. And then Leigh's journey, your careful details of that, the supporting characters... Wow! Just super taken by this gem and a bit depressed it's coming to an end. I understand ending things and when to do it and how to do it in a meaningful way (I've missed a few times there w/ my dribbled stories) - but DAMN! Gonna suck to not get a weekly dose of WK!

(* eyes collection plate, considers passing it around to pay for this to be continued *)

Congratulations on a great, great series! And Thank You! for posting... One of my all time fav's, a Top 10 story I've read! I hope in the near future we get to see Leigh and Brian down the road. That check-in with these two, along with your writing talents, would make for a great little series. <3

XOXOXO

Rachel M. Moore...

I mean, if there's a collection plate....

I'll admit, I'm not above taking bribes to get started on another book in the series, but it'd have to be significant (like, 5 grand) before I'd feel like it'd be worth the mental health hit to not take a break for a while :)

I've absolutely enjoyed reading your wonderful weekly installments, and certainly appreciate the numerous excellent cliffhangers that were craftily deployed. Thank you for all the fun!! :)

Follow-Up

Does Wednesday Knights get followed up with Thursday Mourns? After some kind of battle or operation?
