I don't know if I've ever had so much fun writing, or been so prolific...
On average, I write about 20,000 words a month. Recently, I've been having some issues, so I haven't been writing as much. But things are maybe not entirely okay now, but things are what they are. Anyhow, I've been writing a lot more now, most notably for stories that I plan to post here. My regular writing is on track, so the stories I write here aren't getting in the way on them.
This month, my normal writing is at about 15k words, which is a bit lower than usual but not bad. But it's still on track for what I have planned. Plus a few IRL stuff have kinda gotten in my way this month, so maybe that has to do with it? Still no big deal.
My writing for this site is 35k words written since I first started writing here on August 6th. (Note that not all of that is published here yet.) That is 50k words in a month total? That is absolutely insane for me. Maybe doing all of these short stories is a good idea to get my mind flowing. If I could do that writing all the time, and more so for my regular novels, I would be ecstatic. Due to life circumstances mentioned earlier, I had fallen behind on my writing plans.
Also, I'm having lots of fun. I love writing, I have since I was little. And stories are always coming to mind. Sometimes I feel like I might explode, honestly. If I didn't write, the stories might just overflow and leave me dead. Getting to write so many different stories, as the stories I write here are all short and sweet, is really nice. I have tons of ideas, and not all of them can get turned into 80k word stories. Plus, there's only so much time in the day for me to write whole novels. I would like to do some reading, too, after all. Among other stuff.

Good!
My writing has been down lately, it's good that you're here to take up some slack. :)
Welcome and hugs,

= Give everyone the benefit of the doubt because certainty is a fragile thing that can be shattered by one overlooked fact.
well done.
I think that the most I've ever managed was 36k words in a calendar month.
When you get in the grove, you can easily spend the day writing when you should be doing other jobs such as ironing, cutting the grass, fixing the leaky roof on the garden shed, painting the front porch and a few dozen more.
Oh, and getting something to eat and drink from time to time.
Despite spending a very hot (no wind or clouds and 30C+ temps) couple of hours on the shed roof this morning, I have managed 2000 words today.
Keep up the good work
Samantha
That's incredible
I would be happy if I could just crank out about a thousand words a day on average in one single story. If I could do that I could complete four stories a month, since my stories generally run 17 to 20 thousand words. When I retired, that's what I envisioned, just sitting around and writing stories.
As it is, in the past six months, I've had three stories in the TG fiction genre going at the same time and couldn't concentrate on any one of them, and then had two more crop up that my muse demanded I start. In the other genre I write in it's nearly the same.
Then all at once, "A Yank in British Fancy Dress," just flowed out of my head, through my finger tips and onto my hard drive with hardly a hitch, except for some research to give the story a bit of realism. With that, I got my juices running and picked up two old stories that I had been writing it fits and starts only to leave them go again, but this time I was able to finish "If It Was Your Husband," and I think I've finished another, but I'm sitting on it for a while to see how the ending sit with me.
I hope I'll be able to keep up the pace for a while. It's great when my muse stays on track and gives me the words to write.
Hugs
Patricia

This is not a contest but I generally post 5,000 words a week on my Patreon page (3 pieces) for exactly the same reason as you - I just get such a kick out of it. Unlike you, I only took up writing a few years ago, when my work allowed me time - my brain can never rest, even when I'm sleeping. I favor short stories because (in work as well) I pride myself as a finisher. Looking at it all now, it has all got a bit out of hand. I actually have enlisted help to manage my huge back catalog. Next week I will stop.
