I know this probably comes as no surprise to anyone, but at this point I have to make it official:

There's not gonna be a contest or challenge for June.

I have a really cool idea for one, but I'll hold on to it for next year (since I really want it to be special.) Things are just a bit too up in the air right now on a lot of things, and I've been kinda out of it because of that.

If you'd like a challenge to write from anyway, there's always the wide array of challenges available in the site's little-used forums, most of which are pretty time-agnostic in terms of when they can be done.

I'll try to get something special together for July, but it all depends on how things are going then.

Poor response

Apart from having to deal with all the other issues and problems in your life, the poor response to the May challenge must temper your enthusiasm to spend your time organising another. The submissions although lacking in quantity(1 3-part story and 4 solos) made up for it in quality and it's a shame that a bigger field and audience was not attracted.

Take your time to sort yourself out, most of the authors seem to be beavering away on their usual submissions and, speaking for myself I look forward to the next challenge or contest whatever and whenever it may be.

I'm not really concerned much about overall response.

If a contest or challenge prompt doesn't get a lot of traction, that just means I need to put in a bit more thought for the next one. It's a failure on my part, not that of the site's writers.

No, we just have a lot of stuff going on right now. The trip to AR to get my stuff, losing the car (at least for a while,) trying to get books ready for Kindle... there's a lot we're doing.

Not a failure, Mel

Oh no Mel, definitely not a failure, and certainly not on your part.
Your boundless enthusiasm, even when all the smelly stuff was happening on the way home from Arkansas, is a sure fire way to make me smile...oh yes, and your lovely Wednesday Knights love story ...Go Leigh Go
