Here I am again, begging for votes instead of nominations. As of late today, Jan. 24th, only four people have voted, including myself. That's not nearly enough for a fair tally. There are a lot of very good stories that really do deserve recognition so I hope to see a lot more votes soon.
It's really easy to vote. You can go to the final story nominations page, copy and paste all the entries to a text file and then edit the text file. Just delete all those lines except the award category, story length and story that you want to vote for.
You don't have to read every story and you don't have to vote for every category, but please consider voting.

I see no purpose in the "awards" nor benefit to anyone. I'm stating my own feeling on the subject and speak for no one else....

Benefits of the Terry Awards
The nominations have sparked an increase in hits for some of the nominated stories. It helps readers rediscover gems they might have missed.
That's one benefit anyway.
As for selecting winners, the whole thing was supposed to be fun, and it was supposed to give authors some much deserved recognition. Think of it as an ego boost too. Hopefully, it'll help motivate authors to continue posting their wonderful stories here.
I think these are worthwhile benefits.

Really Hard
Alright already! I've voted and let me tell you it was an interesting experience. It really made me think about how the stories effected me. Some of the choices were very hard when I liked or in some cases loved all of the choices. For a couple I made notes to go back and reread them, not to help me vote but because I enjoyed them so much the first time. I might have even voted for one of my own stories just to make sure the darn thing got at least one vote. Actually I tend to like my own stuff because strangely it is stuff that I really want to read but no one else had gotten around to writing it yet, so I had to do it myself. :)
So if you haven't voted yet go ahead and get to it. It will make you think as well as realize what a wonderful group of talented writers we have here.
Maybe we should have a category of favorite commenter or reader!!! Most humorous commenter? ....LOL!

First off, thanks for all the work that you put into something that was meant to be fun for all, and a way to encourage writers. It is too bad if people don't want to take you up on it.
As Grover says, it was hard to make choices, from such a fine list of authors / stories. Almost a daunting task, which may be why you are not getting the response level you would like.
Don't be discouraged!
