I noticed this in the "Did you know" section of the Wikipedia home page this morning. (It has now disappeared. Typical. I had to look in the archives.)
...that during a renovation of 4 Park Avenue workers found a sealed room with women's clothes and shoes that was not in the building's blueprints?
This is asking for a story to be written but I have no time to do it. Any takers out there?
This is a building in Manhatten that was constructed for Alfred Vanderbilt in 1912. I will add that if you go to the full entry it is rather long and descriptive, and the only reference I could find was prettyy much word for word what was in the teaser. Unless you like architecture, or want to include building details in your story, don't bother reading it.

Where and what was found?
It would be interesting to have more details about where the room was located in the building - in the basement? in the office area behind the reception desk? between a fire escape stairway and a hotel room on one of the upper floors?
Also, what period were the clothes and shoes from? Edwardian? Roaring twenties? Depression era? 1950s? Also, were these hotel staff uniforms, ordinary everyday clothes, evening gowns, entertainer costumes...?
Many possibilities exist, and good stories could be crafted around any circumstances you could imagine.
Age
What vintage were the clothes? Did they date back to the construction of the building or were they more recent? Was there some tragedy regarding a wife that might explain why the room was walled off?

Crossdressers and Transsexuals'
They've been with us a very long time. The Old Testament has rules that attempted to write us out of existence. I even had a hidden place behind the furnace. Had the Psychological community not stuck their nose in, I'd likely have remained an occasional Crossdresser. I was never a Transsexual but their drugs really made the situation Bolex out. I see nothing unusual about workers finding his stash.
it exists
There exists a story centred on the hidden room theme. A young couple buy a rundown house and find a boarded up entrance to the maids quarters, wouldn't that be nice?

There Is A Story
On this site about a very similar discovery, although it goes a bit further. It's called The Wardrobe, by Charlotte Dickles.
I can't stop myself
As people may know, you throw something like this in my direction and I am like a dog on a steak. So yes, I have picked this up and I am almost finished!
