I've just finished reading Maeryn Lamonte's excellent short story Georgy Girl and it made me start thinking about my own short little book, Missing Without A Trace. When I wrote my novel, the heroine, Kelly, became me...or rather, the inner me. The Charles I should have been, without the male shell that I'd been forced to construct around myself to fit in with everyone around me as I grew up.

I remember wearing out four copies of the single Georgy Girl during the years 1965 through 1969 (when the record--as a single--started getting hard to find. I think I still have a scratchy '45 of it on a closet somewhere.

So, I just wanted to say to those who have read my book (or are thinking of getting and reading it): that's me in there, shredding my skin so-to-speak and playing at how I would have thought and reacted in the world and situation Kelly was in.

My book is still available at the Barnes and Noble Nook Store for a dollar ninety-nine.
It's still selling a few copies every year despite next to no advertising.
