An article from the Guardian details the murder of a Kurdish transgender woman by her brother, who may well get away with it.
It strikes me as perverse that it's acceptable to murder someone for being themselves but not for someone to live as they feel comfortable. This young woman was doing nothing to hurt anyone, so why kill her? The term honour killing is bizarre, it's a disgraceful killing and the disgrace is for the people who perpetrate and condone such murders. Shame on them.

Evil Permeates the World
Evil believes it is the righteous and the better part of society. This is not only what they have been taught but what is in their heart and soul. They didn't have to be taught this as it was in them all along. Living in the society they were raised it was allowed to nurture and blossom.
I could make a lot of correlations to many things happening in our own society and through out the free world but it would only tick off a whole lot of people and nothing will change. Maybe it will help one understand people are easily led as they don't want to make decisions. Matthew 27:17 So when the crowd had assembled, they chose a vile robber and murderer. Understanding and knowledge is in the bible but it has to be explained by the Holy Ghost and not the way Constantine assembled and rewrote the truth, embedded with lies.
The world is progressing as it has been foretold and must be, Isaiah 5:20. If Jesus who could have waved his hand and sweep away all evil didn't do so. Who are we to think we may accomplish what he did not? The world may have their Barabbas, I don't have to agree nor join them. Each has the freedom and right to make their own decisions.

They DO make decisions. BUT: they decide to be on the right (winning) side which promises them the best and most comfortable life possible. If someone has to unjustly bite the dust, then many think: rather them than me.
And if we do want to do something against the evil in the world, we could do it, but it would be expensive: the UN would have to pass motions against every nation breaking the human rights 1st, then invade them to remove their governments condoning such behavior. And THEN teach the common people that what they did was wrong. It would cause many wars with millions of deaths. And sanctions seldom work if a perpetrator nation is big enough to function without the rest of the world (China comes to mind here). Something similiar happened in WWII: even if someone had managed to blow Hitler up a few years before the end of the war then the next führer would have been easily found. So the whole German nation had to be brought to its knees to end this evil. And many years after that massive efforts were needed to drive nazi dogmata out of people's minds. And there are still a few of these monsters running around. :-(
And evil isn't in people all along: usually in the 1st ~6 y of a child's life it is taught (imprinted) what is "right and wrong". If it is taught that it's right to kill people which are different then they will demand to kill people which are different in their later years. Or kill them themselves. So in order to change a few of our human rights breaking societies for the better we'd need a few of Jessie Wolfs' Death Dealer divisions.
So unless these nations really fuck up (like the Germans or the Japanese in WWII) I don't see much chance for rooting out evil in the world until the final economic collapse.
Arseholes and money
It's a common assumption that this sort of "honour" is the result of a distorted idea of patriarchal masculinity. I am sure this is often the case; but it really comes down to money. Patriarchy is an effective (if obnoxious) way of controlling family members and keeping the money in the family. Cisgendered women are subject to strict controls on their behaviour and their choice of partners because they produce the babies who will inherit the family wealth (even if this is merely a smallholding with a couple of goats). Transwomen can't reproduce and also defy the idea of the controlling male at the head of the family. Lesbian ciswomen are a threat because their preferred partners are no patriarchs and assisted reproduction is unlikely to be available or socially acceptable. Gay men might get away with clandestine relationships as long as they can bring themselves to copulate heterosexually and produce at least one heir. Add deconomic insecurity, arbitrary and undemocratic government, fear of what the neighbours think, and the sort of religion where the deity always tells the believer what they want to hear to the mix, and you get misguided vicious arseholes who think it's fine to kill their trans cousin, or sister who wants to follow a career or choose their own life partner. But deep down it's nothing to do with honour: it's coercive control to keep the money in the family.

When I read something like this a quote from one of Snowfall's stories comes to my mind: "I see the world and the evil in it." *Pulls the trigger* "I see the world and less evil in it." If a whole society is hip deep in this kind of BS then I'm afraid only massive external pressure will cure a society of this evil. And it looks like the UN is either unwilling or uncapable to deliver this kind of presuure. :-( So it looks like many people will suffer this insanity for many years to come. :-(
And to call a murder "honor killing" is a sad example that language is abused in this example to let a piece of shit look like candy. :-( That brings back memories of nazi Germany telling the common Germans that the Jews were getting "special treatment", when in fact it was an euphemism for mass murder and slavery into death. :-(
