Yet another precious voice silenced

I didn't know Maddie's work, but she was, obviously, a vigorous voice for us, as well as a shining example of what you can accomplish if you don't give up.. She was much loved, I know, and will surely be missed by her friends, family and fans.

R.I.P. Maddie. You will not be forgotten.

Pokemon

Since I was never a fan of the children show show, I'd never heard of her till I read about her death. Her work in voice acting and in comics gave her a small but loyal group of fans. From what I've read she was active in forums and open about her past.

So often I cringe when reading comments to articles like this one because of the hateful attitudes of some. Not here. Each one mourned a very special person who made everyone's life around her richer.

fare thee well Maddie Blaustein.

As one of the younger ones in here

I actually had a chance to hear her as Mewoth in Pokemon. I guess I grew on her voice as part of my pre-teen /early teen years .

Being one of my favorite characters (due to witty charm) Mewoth always made me smile . So for me her death is also the death of a voice from childhood, I know it sounds a little cold but I never knew her as a person so I don't have much to grieve upon but that character always ment something for me and today it grew silent.

The episode that was mentioned is one of my favorite ,cause it portraits Mewoth as an equal to others. It also shows that ,as written in the article, Mewoth is a human in a Pokemon body and that all of his life from that point onward will be from a human point of view. The writers probably haven't meant it but Mewoth does a better job at portraying what being a TG is all about then most popular culture TG and famous TG.That is due to the reason that he shows it from a different angle one that we aren't biased in favor/against .
There are numerous occasions were that aspect of Mewoth shows I think the best one is taken from an episode where Mewoth get stuck with Pikachu for some reason. In the end of that episode Mewoth is having a semi dialogue with pikachu where Mewoth talk about why Pikachu keep on going with ash , Pikachu seem to make some affection notion to Ash (main character) . This causes Mewoth to confess that his affection to the Rocket dou is due to the fact that they treat him as an equal to them , as a human.

Mewoth was someone I could relate to. Seeing as I had major social problems till high school ,and was rejected by most of my class mate That character that was on one hand ill fitting for one group due to personality but also in the other as they couldn't see behind his exterior to see he is so similar to them .

So After a long post I will say that today one of my childhood voices silenced and I will mourn her death for she has given me a character that I could somewhat relate to .

So may you rest in peace Maddie Blaustein , and thank you for giving such a great character a great voice.

An avid Mewoth fan who will always remember his voice .
Lily.

P.S
Another indication to the human side of Mewoth is located in the Japanese folklore on which he is based. The folklore of Maneki Neko who portraits cats as smart, affectionate and somewhat human like.
