I ran the printer version of "The Answer" through text-to-speech on my iPhone. That pointed out some misphrasings and typos to my ear, for all the strange pronunciations it resulted in.
The typos, at least, I'll fix shortly. And I'll think I'll employ text-to-speech as a late proofing stage on stories from now on, to cut down on errors.

Siri seems to miss nuances when pronouncing words where the tense isn’t taken into account. I have put in quite a few corrected pronunciation, some words I don’t know how she gets her pronunciations.

After trying a few
After trying a few different text to speech tools I find that I like the old Linux espeak tool. It's pretty much a 1980's style vocoder. It renders a flat phoneme based audio stream with absolutely no subtlety or nuance. I find that's a very good way for me to find typographic errors and even misspellings since it makes no attempts to sugar coat or guess around anything. It also gives me fine control over things like words per minute and markers for capitals and punctuation.
And it makes me sound like Stephen Hawking.

Have you tried ivona bright voice?
I've been using that on Android for proofing and listening to stories in the car for years.
The Google assistant ai voice is very good, but it's tricky to access on your phone. Voice @loud and ivona have worked for me.
